We should always prefer to use full RTS protection. Using
CTS to self gives a meaningless improvement, but this flow
is much harder for the firmware which is likely to have
issues with it.

CMD_SYNC is really 0 which is confusing:

if (cmd.flags & CMD_SYNC) is always false.
Fix this by simply removing its definition.

First step of chain noise calibration process had disable flag
check inverted. Chain noise calibration never started because
of this.

Tested on intel 5300 with two antennas attached. The driver
correctly disabled one chain.

Add support for the secondary channel offset IE in channel
switch announcements. This is necessary for proper handling
of CSA on HT access points.

For this to work it is also necessary to convert everything
here to use chandef structs instead of just channels. The
driver updates aren't really correct though. In particular,
the TI wl18xx driver update can't possibly be right since
it just ignores the new channel width for lack of firmware
API.

Alex Romosan reported that since the mac80211 changes in
"mac80211: start auth/assoc timeout on frame status" and
the subsequent fixes in "mac80211: fix auth/assoc timeout
handling" (commits 1672c0e31917 and 89afe614c0c) there's
sometimes an issue connecting to a 5 GHz network with the
iwlwifi DVM driver.

The reason appears to be that since these commits any bad
TX status makes mac80211 immediately try again, causing
all of the authentication attempts to be quickly rejected
by the firmware as it hasn't heard a beacon yet. Before,
it would wait for the timeout regardless of status.

To fix this, invoke the passive-no-RX workaround when not
associated yet as well. This will cause the first frame
to get lost, but then the driver will stop the queues and
the second attempt will only be transmitted after hearing
a beacon, thus delaying it appropriately to not make the
firmware reject it again.

Since we will have several forms of NVM (EEPROM, OTP, etc.)
and they will have different layouts, make the parsed data
more generic. This allows functional code to be independent
of a specific layout.

Also change some variables and function names from having
"eeprom" to "nvm" in their name.

8c358bcd097fa1f63e57fb82525ba52f4a537bfa 22-May-2012 Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> mac80211: add time synchronisation with BSS for assoc

Some drivers (iwlegacy, iwlwifi and rt2x00) today use the
bss_conf.last_tsf value. By itself though that value is
completely worthless since it may be ancient. What really
is needed is synchronisation between some device time and
the TSF.

To clarify this, rename bss_conf.last_tsf to sync_tsf and
add sync_device_ts which is obtained from rx_status which
gets a new field device_timestamp for this purpose. This
is intentionally not using the mactime field since that
is used for other things and in IBSS is expected to sync
with the IBSS's TSF which isn't necessarily true for the
device timestamp.

Also, since we have the information and it's useful even
before the connection has been established, give all the
timing details to the driver before authenticating.

The EEPROM reading/parsing code is all mixed in
the driver today, and the EEPROM is parsed only
when we access data from it. This is problematic
because the NVM needs to be parsed and that is
independent of reading it. Also, the NVM format
for new devices will be different and probably
require a new parser.

Therefore refactor the reading and parsing and
create two independent components. Reading the
EEPROM requires direct hardware accesses and
therefore access to the transport, but parsing
is independent and can be done on an NVM blob.
