Inability to use telugu keyboard

Since a month or so wikipedia android app is not supporting use of telugu keyboard (gboard) in the article. We are able to search in telugu in the search box and find in article, but not able to use keyboard when editing it. Wikipedia chrome site is workimg fine. Any solutions ?Inquisitive creature (చర్చ)

వికీపీడియా అనేది విజ్ఞాన సర్వస్వం. ఇక్కడి పేజీల్లో "ప్రస్తుత" సమాచారం ఎంత ముఖ్యమో, చారిత్రిక సమాచారం కూడా అంతే ముఖ్యం. "ఇవ్వాళ" సమాచారం మారింది గదా అని "నిన్నటి" సమాచారాన్ని తీసేసి కొత్త దాన్ని పెడితే నిన్న ఎలా ఉండేది అనేది తెలియకుండా పోతుంది. ఉదాహరణకు కొత్త జిల్లాలు

కొత్త జిల్లాలు ఏర్పడితే పాత జిల్లా పేజీలో ఉన్న సమాచారాన్ని సవరించాలి - పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణ తరువాత విస్తీర్ణం ఎంత, జనాభా ఎంత, మండలాలెన్ని, గ్రామాలెన్ని,.. వగైరా సమాచారాన్ని సవరించాలి. కానీ అంత మాత్రాన పాత సమాచారాన్ని తీసెయ్యకూడదు. పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణకు ముందు జిల్లా గణాంకాలు ఎలా ఉండేవో రాయాలి. పాత మ్యాపును ఉంచాలి. వాటన్నిటినీ తీసేస్తే విజ్ఞాన సర్వస్వంలో ముఖ్యమైన విలువను కోల్పోయినట్టే. అసలు సమాచారం లేకనే పోతే చేసేదేమీ లేదు. కానీ ఉన్న సమాచారాన్ని తీసెయ్యడం తగదు. దానికి ఎంతో విలువ ఉంది. తెలంగాణ విషయంలో వాడుకరి:యర్రా రామారావు గారు చాలా మండలాల పేజీల్లో చారిత్రిక సమాచారాన్ని చేర్చారు. ఇంకా గ్రామాల పేజీల్లో ఈ చారిత్రిక సమాచారాన్ని చేర్చాల్సి ఉంది. అయితే ప్రస్తుతం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ జిల్లాల పేజీల్లో ఈ తప్పులు జరుగుతున్నై. పాత సమాచారాన్ని తీసేస్తున్నారు. అలా తీసెయ్యక్లుండా పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణకు ముందు అని విడిగా ఆ సమాచారాన్ని చూపండి. ఆయా పేజీల్లో చురుగ్గా పనిచేస్తున్న వాడుకరులందరూ ఈ సంగతిని గమనించి తాము చేసిన మార్పుచేర్పులను వెనక్కి తిరిగి చూసుకుని అవసరమైన సవరణలు చెయ్యాలనీ, ఇకముందు చేసే దిద్దుబాట్లలో అలాంటి పొరపాట్లు జరక్కుండా జాగ్రత్త పడాలనీ విన్నవించుకుంటున్నాను. __ చదువరి (చర్చ • రచనలు) 00:48, 4 జూన్ 2022 (UTC)

చదువరి గారి అమూల్యమైన అభిప్రాయాలతో నేనూ ఏకీభవిస్తున్నాను.2016 తెలంగాణ జిల్లాల, మండలాల పునర్వ్యస్థీకరణలో ఇదే పద్దతి పాటించాను.ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ జిల్లాల పేజీల్లో నేను వీలువెంబడి అవకాశాన్ని చూసుకుని పై సూచనలకు అనుగుణంగా చరిత్రను కాపాడటానికి నావంతు ప్రయత్నం నేను చేస్తాను.ఇప్పటికే శ్రీ కాకుళం జిల్లాలో ఇదే పద్దతి పాటించి సవరించాను.అలాగే మిగిలిన 12 పాత జిల్లాలు ఇదే పద్దతిలో సవరిస్తాను.పాత చరిత్రను కాపాడటం విజ్ఞాన సర్వస్వం లో అది ఒక భాగం అని మనందరం గుర్తెరగాలి.చరిత్రను కాపాడుకుంటూ, ప్రస్తుత సమాచారం తగినట్లుగా నవీకరించటమే వికీపీడియాలో సవరించటం అని అర్థం. యర్రా రామారావు (చర్చ) 03:48, 4 జూన్ 2022 (UTC)

విడుదల కానున్న, రూపొందుతున్న సినిమా వ్యాసాలు సృష్టింపు

ఈ మధ్య కాలంలో విడుదల కానున్న, రూపొందుతున్న, రాబోతున్న చిత్రాల వ్యాసాలు వికీలో రాయటం జరుగుతుంది.ఇప్పటికీ విడుదల కానున్న సినిమాలు వర్గంలో 32 వ్యాసాలు చేరినవి. అలా కూడా రాయచ్చా? ముందే రాయాలసిన అంత అవసరం ఉందా? నిర్మించి విడుదలైన తరువాత రాస్తే బాగుంటుంది కదా! చాలా గ్రామ వ్యాసాలలో ఏర్పాటుచేయుదురు. "పురస్కరిస్తారు", "నిర్వహించెదరు"". పొల్గొనబోవుచున్నాడు" భవిష్యత్ కాలానికి చెందిన పదాలతో కూడిన వాక్యాలున్న పేజీలు తాజాకరించవలసిన వ్యాసాలు అనే వర్గంలో ఇప్పటికి 300 కుపైగా చేరినవి.గమనించనవి ఇంకా కొన్ని ఉండవచ్చు.వీటిని తాజా పర్చటానికి ఇష్టంగా అంత ముందుకువచ్చే వారు చాలా అరుదు.నేను గ్రామ వ్యాసాలలో అవకాశం ఉన్న కొన్ని వాక్యాలను సవరిస్తూనే ఉన్నాను. నేను సవరించినవి బహు కొద్ది మాత్రమే! ఇలా ఉంటే వికీ విర్వహణ కష్టంగా ఉంటుందని గమనించగలరు.తరువాత వాటిని తాజా పర్చాలిసిన బాధ్యత ఎవరు తీసుకుంటారు, ఎవరుకు గుర్తు ఉంటుది!. అలాంటివి ఉన్నవని ఎవరు గమనిస్తారు.అందుకని నాదొక విన్నపం.ఇలాంటి వాక్యాలు, వ్యాసాలు రాయకుండా ఉండటం మేలు అని నా అభిప్రాయం. -2022-06-08T14:40:54‎(IST) యర్రా రామారావు

సినిమా వ్యాసాలు విడుదలైన తరువాత రాస్తే బాగుంటుందని నా అభిప్రాయం. విడుదల కానున్న సినిమా వ్యాసాన్ని ఏక వాక్యంలో రాస్తారు. విడుదలైన తరువాత దానిని విస్తరించడం, వర్గాలు మార్చడం చేయడం జరగటం లేదు. దాని నిర్వహణ, సంస్కరణ, తాజకరించడం నిర్వాహకులకు కష్టంగా ఉంటుంది. కనుక ఇటువంతి వ్యాసాలను రాయకుండా ఉండటమే మేలని నా అభిప్రాయం➤ కె.వెంకటరమణ ❋ చర్చ 09:27, 8 జూన్ 2022 (UTC)

చాలా ముఖ్యమైన విషయంపై చర్చ మొదలుపెట్టినందుకు యర్రా రామారావు గారికి ధన్యవాదాలు.

తీస్తున్నామని బహిరంగంగా ప్రకటించాక ఆగిపోయిన సినిమాలు ఎన్నో ఉంటాయి. అసలు విడుదల అయ్యేవాటికంటే ఆగిపోయేవే ఎక్కువైనా ఆశ్చర్యం లేదు. షూటింగు మొదలయ్యాక కూడా ఆగిపోయేవి కొన్ని ఉంటాయి. విడుదల దాకా వచ్చి కూడా డబ్బు బాధల కారణంగా ఆగిపోయేవి కూడా - బాగా తక్కువే అయినప్పటికీ - ఉంటాయి. అంచేత, "తలపెట్టిన" ప్రతి సినిమాకూ పేజీ పెట్టడం కరెక్టు కాదనే నా ఉద్దేశం కూడా. అయితే సినిమా విడుదలయ్యేదాకా పేజీ పెట్టకపోవడం కూడా సరైన పని కాదేమో! ఎందుకంటే సినిమాలు విడుదల అయ్యే సమయానికి వాటిపై ఆసక్తి తారస్థాయికి చేరుతుంది. ఆ సమయానికి వికీ పేజీ లేనట్లైతే వికీ పాఠకులకు ఆశాభంగం కలిగించవచ్చు. అందుచేత మధ్యేమార్గంగా ఇలా చెయ్యాలని నా ప్రతిపాదన.

• మరీ సినిమా గురించి ప్రకటించగానే పేజీ పెట్టెయ్యకూడదు. దానికోసం కింది మార్గదర్శకాలను పెట్టుకోవచ్చు:
  • సినిమా రెగ్యులర్ షూటింగు మొదలయ్యాకనో, విడుదల తేదీకి నెల/రెణ్ణెల్ల ముందో పేజీని సృష్టించవచ్చు. లేదా మరేదైనా కొలబద్ద పెట్టుకోవాలి.
  • షూటింగు మొదలైందని లేదా విడుదల తేదీ ఫలానా అనే సమాచారం నమ్మదగ్గ మూలాల్లో వస్తేనే పేజీ సృష్టించాలి. గాసిప్ వెబ్సైట్లలో వచ్చే సమాచారాన్ని అసలు మూలాలుగా వాడరాదు.

అలా పేజీని పెట్టినపుడు, అందులో కాలదోషం పట్టే అవకాశమున్న సమాచారాన్ని తగు విధంగా రాయాలి.

• ఉదాహరణకు విడుదల తేదీ 2024 జనవరి 16 అని రాసామనుకొండి. ఆ తేదీ వచ్చే వరకూ ఆ సమాచారంలో దోషమేమీ లేనట్టే. కానీ ఆ తేదీ దాటగానే ఆ సమాచారానికి కాలదోషం పడుతుంది. దాన్ని నివారించేందుకు, ఆ తేదీ పక్కనే లేదా ఆ వాక్యం చివరన {{update after}} అనే మూసను, తగు పరామితులతో చేర్చాలి. అలా చేస్తే ఆ తేదీ వచ్చే దాకా ఆ మూస కనబడదు, అదృశ్యంగా ఉంటుంది. ఆ తేదీ రాగానే ఆ మూస కనబడడమే కాదు, ఆ పేజీని ఒక వర్గం లోకి చేరుస్తుంది. దీని గురించిన వివరాల కోసం వికీపీడియా:వాడుకరులకు సూచనలు#కాలదోషం పట్టే వ్యాసాలను గుర్తించడం ఎలా చూడొచ్చు. ఆ వర్గాన్ని ఎప్పటికప్పుడు పరిశీలిస్తూ ఉంటే ఆయా వ్యాసాలను తగు విధంగా సవరిస్తూ ఉండవచ్చు.
• అలాగే సమాచారపెట్టెలో విడుదల తేదీ ఫీల్డులో విడుదల తేదీ వేసి పక్కనే ఈ మూస పెట్టాలి (భవిష్యత్తులో విడుదల కాబోయే సినిమాలకు మాత్రమే ఇది వర్తిస్తుంది. విడుదలైన వాటికి, విడుదలైన తేదీ వేస్తే చాలు). దాని వలన ఆ తేదీ దాటగానే ఆ పేజీ పై వర్గం లోకి చేరుతుంది.

వికీపీడియా పేజస్ వాంటింగ్ ఫోటోస్ 2022

సముదాయ సభ్యులకు నమస్కారం!

గత ఏట జరిగిన వికీపీడియా పేజస్ వాంటింగ్ ఫోటోస్ 2021 లో తెలుగు వికీ ప్రపంచస్థాయిలో సత్తా చాటిన విషయం విదితమే. అయితే ఈ విజయ పరంపరను కొనసాగించాలని తెలుగు వికీకి ఇంతటి కీర్తి తెచ్చి పెట్టిన ఈ పోటిని ఈ సంవత్సరం కూడా ఘనంగా జరపాలని, తెలుగు వికిలో సంబందిత అంశాలలో మెరుగులు దిద్దడానికి ప్రాజెక్టుని నిర్వహించడం జరుగుతుంది.

వికీపీడియా పేజస్ వాంటింగ్ ఫోటోస్ 2022 ప్రాజెక్టు పేజి సృష్టించడం జరిగింది, కావున సముదాయ సభ్యులందరూ పేజిని సందర్శించి తగు మార్పులను సూచించాలని అభ్యర్తిస్తున్నాను.

అయితే ఈ పోటికి సంబంధించి కొన్ని అంశాలలో సహాయం కావాలి.

1. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు లక్ష్యాలుగా వేటిని ఎంచుకుంటే బాగుంటుందని ఇక్కడ చెప్పగలరు.

June Month Celebration 2022 edit-a-thon

Dear Wikimedians,

CIS-A2K announced June month mini edit-a-thon which is going to take place on 25 & 26 June 2022 (on this weekend). The motive of conducting this edit-a-thon is to celebrate June Month which is also known as pride month.

This time we will celebrate the month, which is full of notable days, by creating & developing articles on local Wikimedia projects, such as proofreading the content on Wikisource if there are any, items that need to be created on Wikidata [edit Labels & Descriptions], some June month related content must be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons and so on. Hi all,

Community members are invited to propose statements to use in the Election Compass for the 2022 Board of Trustees election.

An Election Compass is a tool to help voters select the candidates that best align with their beliefs and views. The community members will propose statements for the candidates to answer using a Lickert scale (agree/neutral/disagree). The candidates’ answers to the statements will be loaded into the Election Compass tool. Voters will use the tool by entering in their answer to the statements (agree/neutral/disagree). The results will show the candidates that best align with the voter’s beliefs and views.

Here is the timeline for the Election Compass:

• July 8 - 20: Community members propose statements for the Election Compass
• July 21 - 22: Elections Committee reviews statements for clarity and removes off-topic statements
• July 23 - August 1: Volunteers vote on the statements
• August 2 - 4: Elections Committee selects the top 15 statements
• August 5 - 12: candidates align themselves with the statements
• August 15: The Election Compass opens for voters to use to help guide their voting decision

The Elections Committee will select the top 15 statements at the beginning of August. The Elections Committee will oversee the process, supported by the Movement Strategy and Governance (MSG) team. MSG will check that the questions are clear, there are no duplicates, no typos, and so on.

ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్, తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రాల్లో జిల్లాల, మండలాల పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణ జరిగినందున సంబంధిత మండలాలకు సంబంధించిన పాత మ్యాపు దస్త్రాలను కొత్త దస్త్రాలతో మార్చాల్సిన అవసరం ఏర్పడింది. అలాగే పాత మ్యాపులను చారిత్రిక అవసరాల కోసం పేజీలో ఉంచాలి. పాత దస్త్రాలను కామన్సుకు తరలించాల్సి ఉంది. అయితే ఈ దస్త్రాలను సృష్టించినపుడు వాటి పేర్లను కేవలం సంఖ్యలతో సూచించారు. వాటి పేర్లలో ఆయా మండలాల పేర్లు ఉండి ఉంటే, ఆ మ్యాపు ఏ మండలానికి చెందినదో గుర్తించడానికి వీలుగా ఉండేది. కానీ పేర్లు సంఖ్యలతో ఉండడాన ఆ వీలు లేకుండా పోయింది. అందుచేత రెండూ రాష్ట్రాల్లోని మండలాల పాత మ్యాపు దస్త్రాల పేర్లను ఆయా మండలం పేరును సూచిస్తూ పేర్లు మార్చి వాటిని కామన్సుకు తరలించడం అనే పని జరిగింది.

Delay of Board of Trustees Election

Dear community members,

I am reaching out to you today with an update about the timing of the voting for the Board of Trustees election.

As many of you are already aware, this year we are offering an Election Compass to help voters identify the alignment of candidates on some key topics. Several candidates requested an extension of the character limitation on their responses expanding on their positions, and the Elections Committee felt their reasoning was consistent with the goals of a fair and equitable election process.

To ensure that the longer statements can be translated in time for the election, the Elections Committee and Board Selection Task Force decided to delay the opening of the Board of Trustees election by one week - a time proposed as ideal by staff working to support the election.

Although it is not expected that everyone will want to use the Election Compass to inform their voting decision, the Elections Committee felt it was more appropriate to open the voting period with essential translations for community members across languages to use if they wish to make this important decision.

The voting will open on August 23 at 00:00 UTC and close on September 6 at 23:59 UTC.

WikiConference India 2023: Initial conversations

Dear Wikimedians,

Hope all of you are doing well. We are glad to inform you to restart the conversation to host the next WikiConference India 2023 after WCI 2020 which was not conducted due to the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic, it couldn't take place. However, we are hoping to reinitiate this discussion and for that we need your involvement, suggestions and support to help organize a much needed conference in February-March of 2023.

The proposed 2023 conference will bring our energies, ideas, learnings, and hopes together. This conference will provide a national-level platform for Indian Wikimedians to connect, re-connect, and establish their collaboration itself can be a very important purpose on its own- in the end it will empower us all to strategize, plan ahead and collaborate- as a movement.

We hope we, the Indian Wikimedia Community members, come together in various capacities and make this a reality. We believe we will take learnings from earlier attempts, improve processes & use best practices in conducting this conference purposefully and fruitfully.

Here is a survey form to get your responses on the same notion. Unfortunately we are working with short timelines since the final date of proposal submission is 5 September. The Universal Code of Conduct Enforcement Guidelines Revisions committee is requesting comments regarding the Revised Enforcement Draft Guidelines for the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC). This review period will be open from 8 September 2022 until 8 October 2022.

The Committee collaborated to revise these draft guidelines based on input gathered from the community discussion period from May through July, as well as the community vote that concluded in March 2022. The revisions are focused on the following four areas:

1. To identify the type, purpose, and applicability of the UCoC training;
2. To simplify the language for more accessible translation and comprehension by non-experts;
3. To explore the concept of affirmation, including its pros and cons;
4. To review the balancing of the privacy of the accuser and the accused

The Committee requests comments and suggestions about these revisions by 8 October 2022. From there, the Revisions Committee anticipates further revising the guidelines based on community input.

Everyone may share comments in a number of places. Facilitators welcome comments in any language on the Revisions Guideline Talk Page. Comments can also be shared on talk pages of translations, at local discussions, or during conversation hours. There are planned live discussions about the UCoC enforcement draft guidelines.

The facilitation team supporting this review period hopes to reach a large number of communities. If you do not see a conversation happening in your community, please organize a discussion. The Vector 2022 skin as the default in two weeks?

Hello. I'm writing on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation Web team. In two weeks, we would like to make the Vector 2022 skin the default on this wiki.

We have been working on it for the past three years. So far, it has been the default on more than 30 wikis, including sister projects, all accounting for more than 1 billion pageviews per month. On average 87% of active logged-in users of those wikis use Vector 2022.

It would become the default for all logged-out users, and also all logged-in users who currently use Vector legacy. Logged-in users can at any time switch to any other skins. No changes are expected for users of these skins.

About the skin

[Why is a change necessary] The current default skin meets the needs of the readers and editors as these were 13 years ago. Since then, new users have begun using Wikimedia projects. The old Vector doesn't meet their needs.

[Objective] The objective for the new skin is to make the interface more welcoming and comfortable for readers and useful for advanced users. It draws inspiration from previous requests, the Community Wishlist Surveys, and gadgets and scripts. The work helped our code follow the standards and improve all other skins. We reduced PHP code in Wikimedia deployed skins by 75%. The project has also focused on making it easier to support gadgets and use APIs.

[Changes and test results] The skin introduces a series of changes that improve readability and usability. The new skin does not remove any functionality currently available on the Vector skin.

• The sticky header makes it easier to find tools that editors use often. It decreases scrolling to the top of the page by 16%.
• The new table of contents makes it easier to navigate to different sections. Readers and editors jumped to different sections of the page 50% more than with the old table of contents. It also looks a bit different on talk pages.
• The new search bar is easier to find and makes it easier to find the correct search result from the list. This increased the amount of searches started by 30% on the wikis we tested on.
• The skin does not negatively affect pageviews, edit rates, or account creation. There is evidence of increases in pageviews and account creation across partner communities.

How can editors change and customize this skin?

It's possible to configure and personalize our changes. We support volunteers who create new gadgets and user scripts. Check out our repository for a list of currently available customizations, or add your own.

@SGrabarczuk (WMF), Thanks for the update. We have some serious issues with the Search Box. I wrote them at the talk page mentioned above and Reporducing the same here:

1. The search box does not transliterate the Roman skript to Telugu as soon as the [page is loaded. If I leave the page and come back immediately, then it starts working. It is not the case in the old Vector (High priority)
2. While typing the in the Search box, when I move to to type new word, the first letter is erased, and only the subsequent letters are displayed (Serious issue)
3. Some of the typed letters do not appear as they are supposed to. Ex: when I type ree,vee,kee etc., they are supposed to appear as రీ,వీ,కీ. Instead, they appear as రి,వి,కి (They are "printed" on the screen correctly, but don't "appear" correctly). (Medium Priority)

Request you to look into these issues.

2. ఇక ప్రాజెక్టు వ్యవధిలో చేపట్టిన కార్యక్రమాలకి భర్తీ కూడా అందించాలి.
3. ఇక మిగిలిన గ్రాంటుతో వికీ పేజెస్ వాంటింగ్ ఫోటోస్ లాంటి ఒక కొత్త ప్రాజెక్టు చేపట్టి, దానికి తగు కార్యచరణ రూపొందించుకోవాలి. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుని వికీ భాస్కరుడు ఎల్లంకి భాస్కరనాయుడు గారి స్మృత్యర్థం నడపాలని భావిస్తున్నాను.

• పై ప్రతిపాదనలో ఎక్కడా అంకెలు ఇవ్వలేదు. గ్రాంటు ఎంత మంజూరైంది, బహుమతులు ఎన్ని, ఎంతెంత ఇద్దామని అనుకుంటున్నారు, భవిష్యత్తు కోసం ఎంత సొమ్ము అట్టిపెట్టదలచారు, ఏయే పోటీలు పెట్టదలచారు వగైరాలు వివరంగా అంకెలు ఇస్తూ ప్రతిపాదించాలి.
• పోటీలో ఇచ్చే మొత్తం ఎంతో ముందే ప్రకటించి ఉంటే బాగుండేది. పోటీ ముగిసి మూడు వారాల తరవాత ఇప్పుడు బహుమతులు ఎంతెంత ఇవ్వాలి అని చర్చించడం అంత సముచితంగా అనిపించడం లేదు. ఇప్పుడు బహుమతుల సొమ్ము ఎంత ఇవ్వాలి అని చర్చించడం దానిపై వివిధ అభిప్రాయాలు రావడం.. ఇది నాకు అంత కంఫర్టబుల్‌గా అనిపించడం లేదు.

Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos(WPWP) తెలుగు కార్యక్రమంలో బహుమతులు ముందుగా ప్రకటించలేదు కాబట్టి ఇప్పడు గత పోటీలో ఇచ్చినట్టుగా విజేతలకు బహుమతి సొమ్ము ఇవ్వటం కన్నా ఒక ప్రత్యేక కార్యక్రమం (photo edit-a-thon) పెట్టి అందులో విజేతలకు, జరిగిన వికీపీడియా పేజస్వాంటింగ్ ఫోటోస్ 2022 లో వారి కృషిని కూడా పరిగణలోకి తీసుకొని ఈ రెండు దఫాలలో జరిగిన చేర్పుల ఆధారంగా బహుమతి ప్రధానం చేస్తే బాగుంటుంది, అంతేకాక ఎల్లంకి భాస్కరనాయుడు గారి స్మృత్యర్థం పెద్దవారికి కూడా ఒక ప్రత్యేక కార్యక్రమము, బహుమతి ప్రకటిస్తే బాగుంటుందని నా అభిప్రాయం. ఇక గ్రాంటు వినియోగం విషయానికొస్తే వికీపీడియా పేజస్ వాంటింగ్ ఫోటోస్ 2022 పోటీకి సంబంధించి స్థానిక బహుమతుల గురించి నేను ప్రకటించలేదు, ఎందుకంటె గ్రాంటు అప్పటికి ఇంకా మనకి అందలేదు కనుక.

ఇక గ్రాంటులో ప్రతిపాదించిన అంశాలలో పోటీకి ముందే ఈ గ్రాంటు అందితే జరిగే కృషి మరింత మెరుగ్గా ఉండేది అని నా అభిప్రాయం. అయితే దీనికి మద్దతుగానే ప్రాజెక్టుని పొడిగించే ఉద్దేశం ప్రాజెక్టు పేజీలో కనబరిచాను.

నా అభిప్రాయంలో ప్రాజెక్టులో జరగవలసిన చాలా కృషి ఇంకా మిగిలే ఉంది, కాబట్టి ప్రాజెక్టుకి ఒక పదిహేను రోజుల పొడిగింపు లేదా ప్రత్యేక జోడింపు అవసరం. ఈ కాల వ్యవధిలో ప్రాజెక్టులో సూచించిన, వీడియోలు ఆడియోలు అలాగే ఫోటో ట్రావెల్ అంశాలపై పని చేసే అవకాశం దొరుకుతుంది.

కశ్యప్ గారు సూచించినట్లు నేను ప్రతిపాదించే ఈ పదిహేను రోజుల వ్యవధి అయ్యాక, ముందు జరిగిన ప్రాజెక్టు కృషి ఆపై కొత్తగా జరిగే కృషిని పరిగణిస్తూ బహుమతులు అందజేస్తే బాగుంటుందని నా అభిప్రాయం.

ఇప్పటి వరకు పోటీలో ఉత్సాహంగా పాల్గొన్న వాడుకరులకు ఫోటో ట్రావెల్ పని చేసే వెసులుబాటు కల్పిద్దాం. అలాగే ఇప్పటి వరకు చేసిన వారందరికీ ఒక నిర్ణిత దిద్దుబాట్ల సంఖ్యతో (కనీసం 50) చేసిన వారికి మొబైలు అలవెన్సు అందజేద్దాం (ఈ అదనపు పదిహేను రోజుల గడువులో ఆ 50 దిద్దుబాట్ల మార్కుని దాటిన ఇతర వాడుకరులకు మొబైలు అలవెన్స్ అందజేయొచ్చు).

అయితే ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు లక్ష్యంగా వికీమీడియా వారికి అందించిన ప్రతిపాదనలో 1500 చిత్రాలని చెప్పాము, ఆ మైలు రాయిని మనం దాటేశాం. అలాగే కామన్స్ లో 150 చిత్రాలు, 20 వ్యాసాలలో ఆడియోలు, 20 వ్యాసాల్లో వీడియోలు అలాగే 20 కొత్త వ్యాసాలూ కూడా చేరుస్తామని ప్రతిపాదించడం జరిగింది.

అక్టోబరు 10 మొదలుకొని 25 వరకు ఈ పదిహేను రోజుల మైలేజ్ ఎడిటతాన్ నిర్వహించడం ద్వారా పై మెయిలు రాళ్లు చేరుకోగలమని నా వినతి.

ఈ గ్రాంటు విషయమై మనమంతా సమావేశమై మరింత విపులంగా చర్చిస్తే బాగుంటుంది, ఈ చర్చకోసం రేపు సాయంత్రం 6 గంటలకి గూగుల్ సమావేశం నిర్వహించడం జరుగుతుంది, సముదాయ సభ్యలందరు హాజరు కాగలరని మనవి.

రూపు మార్పు

పైన #The Vector 2022 skin as the default in two weeks? విభాగంలో చెప్పిన విధంగా త్వరలోనే డిఫాల్టు రూపు మార్చబోతున్నారు. ప్రస్తుతమున్న "వెక్టర్" స్థానే "వెక్టర్ 2022" డిఫాల్టు రూపుగా రాబోతోంది. ప్రస్తుతం నేను దాన్ని వాడుతూ పరీక్షిస్తున్నాను. వెతుకు పెట్టెలో సమస్యలు కనిపించాయి. వాటి గురించి ఆ బృందానికి తెలియజేసాను. తోటి వాడుకరులు కూడా ఈ రూపును ఎంచుకుని (అభిరుచుల్లో) పరీక్షించవలసినదిగా కోరుతున్నాను.

• నేను గమనించిన మరొక అంశం - లోగో. లోగో చిన్నదైపోయింది. అది ఈ రూపుకు సహజమే కాబట్టి దానితో మనకు చింత లేదు. కాకపోతే వికీపీడియా పేరు "WIkipedia" అని ఇంగ్లీషులో వస్తోంది. దీన్ని మనం తెలుగులోకి మార్చుకోవాలి. ఈ పని చెయ్యగలవారు దీన్ని పరిశీలించవలసినది. వీవెన్ గారూ చూస్తారా?
