Zodiac is a 2007 American mystery-thriller film directed by David Fincher. The screenplay by James Vanderbilt is based on the 1986 non-fiction book of the same name by Robert Graysmith. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey, Jr., with Anthony Edwards, Brian Cox, Elias Koteas, Donal Logue, John Carroll Lynch, Dermot Mulroney and Chloë Sevigny in supporting roles.

Zodiac tells the story of the manhunt for a notorious serial killer who called himself the "Zodiac" and killed in and around the San Francisco Bay Area during the late 1960s and early 1970s, leaving several victims in his wake and taunting police with letters, blood stained clothing, and ciphers mailed to newspapers. The cases remain one of Northern California's most infamous unsolved crimes.

Fincher, Vanderbilt and producer Bradley J. Fischer spent 18 months conducting their own investigation and research into the Zodiac murders. Fincher employed the digital Thomson Viper Filmstream camera to photograph the film. However, Zodiac was not shot entirely digitally; traditional high-speed film cameras were used for slow-motion murder sequences.

Zodiac: An Eco-Thriller (1988) is a novel by American writer Neal Stephenson. His second novel, it tells the story of an environmentalist, Sangamon Taylor, uncovering a conspiracy involving industrialist polluters in Boston Harbor. The "Zodiac" of the title refers to the brand of inflatable motor boats the hero uses to get around the city efficiently. His opponents attempt to frame him as an ecoterrorist.

The protagonist is inspired by environmental chemist Marco Kaltofen. Taylor is a recreational user of nitrous oxide, justifying his choice of drug by the eponymous Sangamon's principle: "the simpler the molecule, the better the drug".

In the novel, Taylor is a chemist working for GEE, a fictional environmental activism group which stages both protests and direct actions plugging toxic waste pipes. Taylor becomes involved with Basco Industries, a fictional corporation which produced Agent Orange and is a major supplier of organic chlorine compounds. Basco experiments with genetic engineering to develop chemical producing microbes, driving Taylor's efforts to expose their crimes and preserve Boston Harbor.

Zodiac is the seventh studio album by electronic rock band Electric Six. It was released in 2010 on Metropolis Records.

According to an official statement by the band, the songs on the album have been arranged to correspond with the signs of the Zodiac. The album contains a cover version of The Spinners 1976 classic "The Rubberband Man".

Production

"Brave" is a song performed by American recording artist Kelis, taken from her fifth studio album, Flesh Tone. The up-tempo electro-dance song was written by Kelis, will.i.am, Jean Baptiste and James Fauntleroy, and produced by Benny Benassi and Alle Benassi. It was released on 6 January 2011, as the album's fourth single by will.i.am music and Interscope Records. Kelis has also re-recorded the track in 'simlish' for video game The Sims 3: Late Night.

A music video, directed by Rankin, for the single was uploaded to YouTube on November 19, 2010. The video shows a still camera of Kelis, wearing a white top with a white background behind her with the camera moving while a large beat is being played.

Brave is the second studio album from Australian country singer Jamie O'Neal. It was her first release on the Capitol Records label, being issued on 1 March 2005 (see 2005 in country music). It followed an unreleased second album for Mercury Records, titled On My Way to You, the title track of which carried over to Brave. The album reached a peak of number 6 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number 40 on the Billboard 200.

Content

Three singles were released from the album. All three charted in the Top 30 of the charts. "Trying to Find Atlantis" reached number 18, "Somebody's Hero" reached number 3, and "I Love My Life" reached number 26. After this album, O'Neal released a single titled "God Don't Make Mistakes" in 2007. This single failed to reach Top 40, however, and O'Neal exited Capitol as well.

All but two tracks on this album were produced by Keith Stegall, who also produced O'Neal's debut album. "Devil on the Left" and "Girlfriends" were co-produced by O'Neal and Rivers Rutherford.

Brave is the sixth studio album by American entertainer Jennifer Lopez. It was released on October 4, 2007, by Epic Records. Inspired by her marriage with Marc Anthony and taking influences by Jamiroquai and Sade, "Brave" features prominently samples from old classics, mixing up with funk and R&B music. Brave sees Lopez working with new collaborators, such as Ryan Tedder, Midi Mafia, Jonathan Rotem, Bloodshy, Lynn & Wade LLP, The Clutch and others, while also working with long-time collaborator Cory Rooney throughout the album.

The album received a mixed reception from critics, with some complimenting its production, calling the album one of her strongest albums to date, while many called it a formulaic and bland album. Commercially, the album was a commercial disappointment, becoming her first album to miss the top-ten on the Billboard 200 chart, while also missing the top-twenty in the UK, Australia and other important markets. It has sold only 650,000 copies worldwide.
