Brita Standard Replacement Filters are designed to improve the quality of tap water by reducing impurities such as chlorine (taste and odor), mercury, and copper. Each filter has an approximate life of 40 gallons or about two months for the average family. Six filters collectively provide approximately one year of cleaner, great-tasting water. Using a Brita standard filter can replace the use of up to 300 standard 16.9 oz. water bottles, significantly reducing plastic waste. These filters feature a built-in mesh screen to prevent black flecks, an ion-exchange resin to capture copper and cadmium, and activated carbon to reduce chlorine and mercury. A pull-top cap facilitates easy insertion and removal, while a patented aeration design ensures a consistent flow of water.
