Frustrating!
Buzzboy72· Review provided by LEGO · February 8, 2022
Unbelievably frustrating build. I was aware of the reviews before I purchased the set but I still went ahead and bought it because I wanted it to go with my other Batman helmet.

All was well UNTIL I tried putting on the first side panel. Somehow it just doesn't seem to line up properly. You press the top of the side panel into place and the bottom becomes dislocated and so you try putting the bottom of the side panel on and the top pops off. I even had the nose piece fall out because of the pressure I was putting on the side piece to locate it properly. FYI the other side piece is exactly the same.

I cobbled it together eventually into a finished model but neither side pieces are located correctly but it does stay together.

Very unsatisfying build that left me feeling quite frustrated and even a bit angry.

I've never had this much problem with a LEGO set before and I've built a lot bigger and more complex sets than this.

I think the main problem is the lack of internal structure to put any pressure on when you're pressing pieces into place.

Lastly there was a piece missing. A really insignificant blue quarter circle piece which didn't spoil the overall aesthetic value despite the fact it was located on the outside but it just added insult to injury.
Disappointed in LEGO for this one.

For starters, the price is too high for this cowl. I have many other similar products, including STAR WARS and MARVEL products that provide more value for the dollar cost.

Secondly, when assembling this one, LEGO went cheap on the base pieces and it came apart a couple of times during the build. It is not solid like many others I have built.

I wish they would have done a better job with the coloring as well, giving it a better blue. The picture online shows a lighter brighter blue, rather the the very dark blue included in the set.

The fact that there aren't many pieces in total is a let down as well. Why didn't Lego put some type of face to both cowls? They did it for Venom, Carnage, Iron Man. They could have come up with something a bit more substantial, if not, then price accordingly.

Lastly, this cowl just sits on top of the center stand. I am a huge Batman fan but would not buy these again, nor do I recommend it to anyone.
Very disappointing!

We were so excited when we saw this set was released. My son wanted it for Christmas and received it happily. Then everything changed when he tried to build it. This is a frustrating set that looks good on paper but certainly not worth the money but also something seems to be off with this set. I can see from other reviews that we are not the only builders who have had issues. The pieces don't line up well and it's off enough that the sides won't seat well. My son gave up on it and I helped him through it but I struggled as well. I didn't force anything on but had to work hard at getting things to line up correctly. There was joy once we were done but building it was joyless and a chore - not our typical Lego experience.
Surprisingly challenging

I really like this build. I appreciate how the cowl can be lifted off of the stand, unlike the other helmets in this series. Surprisingly, the cowl easily goes on the stand and does not wobble once in place.

A number of innovative techniques went into the design of this build in order to make the cowl hollow. As such, there are a couple of points where the plates on the sides have to be precisely lined up in order to fit together correctly. Once these pieces are placed correctly, the whole build locks solidly into place. It is a very sturdy build once correctly assembled.

Overall, I love this build.
