The picture shows 3 layers of material. One on the front, blackout in the middle, and the matching colored fabric on the back. This was why I decided to purchase it, plus the mostly awesome reviews. So I was really pretty upset when they arrived and it was just one relatively thin piece of fabric per panel. I ordered the light gray/white colored ones. I thought well maybe they work somehow, opened the really thin package, and wrapped them around me. No thermal effect that I could tell. I put them up over the window and could see that they are room darkening curtains, but not blackout curtains. Plenty of light came through. I would not expect that they would stop much sound, if any at all. It’s just one piece of medium weight fabric, like a little thicker than a restaurant table cloth. The part that was folded up near the grommets definitely had a blackout effect, but that’s because it was two pieces of fabric folded over. If the manufacturer wanted to make blackout curtains they’d use more than one piece of fabric (like every other true blackout curtain, ever). That’s what I thought I was buying because that’s how it’s described and pictured. In any case, if you read closely the description talks about the fabric being some kind of thermal/room darkening fabric, and for the darker colors that may be closer to the truth, but not for the white/light gray one. Got it in the mail today and it will be sent back today. Frustrating that it was so inaccurately described and I think the good reviews may possibly be for the darker colors. Read the verified purchases that give a low rating. Those are real reviews. Also, the curtains appear to be well-made, which is why I am giving them 2 stars.
Adds charm, great price and color variety!

I purchased a first set in Light Beige, 38x72. This is the second set I purchased in same size but in Turquoise. They set up very nice with ease, not wrinkled or stiff, nor too heavy like. Love the thick silver rings to put the rod through. Purchased for our back patio slider door. I like that they do not touch the floor, they line up perfectly with the glass at the bottom of the slider. They slide open and closed with ease. They certainly help keep the sun out in the warmer parts of the day, helps to keep the heat back a bit more. I bought the Turquoise to give a bit of cooler beachy effect throughout our kitchen. Also updated our side door with a the same color in a small set from a different company, as the sun gets bright it seems to cast a nice light Turquoise over the walls at times.
Not near as dark as i thought they'd be.

very disappointed with this pair of deconovo thermal insulated blackout curtains. to start with i should of listened to my wife. she said not to buy the grommet because they let too much light in at the top from the rod holes. well she was right. way too much light shines in and as the sun came down on these curtains i could see right thru them all throughout the curtainn. yes its nice fabric and all but no way should they be called blackout curtains. they block out a lot of the sun but in no way do they blackout the room. these are in our bedroom and aren't much darker or different from the maroon curtains we took down, and they weren't blackout. ill probably keep them but i should of ordered 2 pairs because 1 pair just isnt enough really to cover the entire window. this was my 1st time ordering curtains and most likely my last. some things are just more for my wife and this is definitely one of them. bedding sets and now curtains, i dont know what im doing. I'll admit it. it was to be a suprise to show her " see there i ordered some curtains myself to keep sunlight out". that backfired on me. see there, "you dont have a clue what youre doing dad". no i dont, won't happen again. im done trying to be a home interior or decorator or whatever you call it. these curtains might do well on a side windown that doesn't have the sun beating on them constantly but in the direct sunlight they are far from being a total blackout curtain. maybe having white mini blinds doesn't help matters either. if we had black mini blinds maybe they would darken up the curtains even more but i coukd see through the black curtain and see the white mini blinds in lots of areas. I'll leave this stuff to my wife from now on. i learned my lesson. was only a $20 error on my part thank god and not $50-$100 or I'd be returning them. for $20 ill keep these and use in a side bedroom. or we'll use them somewhere im sure. they're thermal so maybe as a bedliner for the dog in winter time. she's always cold and likes old comforters to lie on, maybe she'd like these? like i said well use them somewhere. I'll let my wife decide how to use them. very disappointed in myself and in the curtains themselves. was expecting them to be a lot darker and they weren't.
They’re just okay

So, the color is pretty and looks exactly the way it does online. They’re not thermal insulated by any stretch of the imagination. Frustrating bc we bought them to cover super drafty windows before a freeze and don’t have the time to return them and find more. The hems at the bottom of some of the panels are already coming undone in the corners bc they weren’t finished properly. Some of the panels also get shorter at the edges, so the sides come up. Again, love the color and they’re not terrible…but they’re not thermal as advertised and I know I’m going to have to mend edges on some of them at some point, so I’m not impressed. This would be a nice option for someone looking for a pop of color in a room to make it look nice on a modest budget.
Shipping was quick and they were packaged nicely.
