TL:DR; Best dang bottle you'll ever not need to replace. Well, unless you lose it. :(

I grew up with one of these no more than 5 feet away on every camping, hunting, fishing, and ATVing trip we went on. It was in my dad's truck when I'd ride with him on longhauls, or chip runs, or while careening down a mountain in the PNW blasting on the CB as loud as we could with several tons of freshly loaded logs making sure that slowing down wasn't an option.
Coffee was always hot. Chowder always steaming. Even that one time Odell Lake froze over with us still on it.
I loved that green bottle. It was stoically unique with it's random dents, scratches, and DIY handle replacement made from a scrap of copper tubing.
At some point dad "upgraded" and gave me his old bottle and I took it on my own many adventures. But I also somehow, lost it somewhere down the line. Not sure where that little emerald icon of reverence disappeared.... was it left in Iraq in 03? Seattle? Did it find a cranny in dad's barn while I stored my stuff during my move to LA? or maybe it disappeared when I and six other souls toured across 6 states and 4 Canadian provinces in an old Dodge van as we tried our very best to keep up with Soulfly and Five Finger Death Punch's busses and nurse a busted rear differential, only to almost get stuck in a blizzard between Calgary and Edmonton... I don't know. but it lived a good life and was a more than solid companion over decades, generations, and many, many adventures.

At this moment, in the beginnings of a new adventure of mine, I think it's time I get a new one. A new ever present companion, faithfully at my side as I explore the back trails of the world on a 2-wheeled freedom machine. (Freedom in the adventure sense, not the political one) I'm thankful that the Stanley's made today, seem to be just as solid as my old, lost friend.
Almost great, but tool required

I love the thermos and it works well. I would love to put in dishwasher but I don't since it might mess with the coated finish. The only minor negative is the handle was not fully attached when I got it. Thank God I did not fill with hot liquid! The two metal attachment pins were not fully pressed into the two bracket sleeves of the thermos. Luckily I had the perfect size of slip-jaw pliers to be able to lock those in enough so they stayed attached. It did take some time and a non-DIY person might have difficulty. This one perfectly fits 10cups of coffee (that is the coffee carafe amt) not sure if it really is 10cups though.

Thermos is REALLY BIG. The handle helps a lot and is sturdy (plastic - will probably eventually wear and break - time will tell). Keeps a lot of coffee hot and doesn't leak at all. One of the reasons why I changed from the tumblers with caps. The cap can be used as a small mug (nostalgic) - plastic lined with the outer shell being metal. I can feel a little degradation between the two materials when I'm twisting on/off. Metal interior. I like this alot, just wanted to convey the not so perfect aspects. It is my go to.
Wonderful!

I just got this Stanley thermos about a week ago. It arrived exactly as described and shown in the photos. I've been using it daily thru the week since it arrived without any leaking and I've been happy with it. It's 4 oz less than my last one but it's taller and more slender which makes it travel in my backpack better than my old one. A little smaller but it travels better for my needs.

It's been reliable at holding my coffee hot all week but the real magic happened over this past weekend when I was helping a buddy move. I made a thermos full of coffee for the fellas but no one wanted any coffee. So it stayed in my backpack until I completely forgot about it. ELEVEN HOURS LATER, we were done and decided to get some coffee to refresh for the drive back home. I suddenly remembered my thermos of coffee, and YES it was still HOT!!! It had the whiffs of steam drifting out of the thermos as I poured. We each enjoyed a bit of nice hot coffee on a chilly evening without any problem.

Yes, I can absolutely recommend the Stanley Thermos to a friend!

Pro Tip- Prime your thermos to maintain the most hot or cold you want for your beverages. When you put in a beverage, the temperature will settle at about half way between the temps of your beverage and the sitting temperature of the thermos.

To keep it cold longer for cold beverages, put ice water inside for about 5 minutes to put a chill in it before adding your cold beverages. For hot beverages, put hot water inside to heat up the thermos and keep your hot beverages hot longer.

How I do is easiest for me, I run my coffee maker once *without coffee* just to get the hot water and pour that hot water into my thermos to heat it up. Then it sits on the side for a few minutes while I brew my actual coffee. Then I pour out the hot water and pour in my fresh hot coffee into the heated thermos. I find that doing this keeps my coffee hot for much longer.

Priming the thermos really maximizes the potential of your thermos.
