I stumbled upon this really cool reading challenge where music was involved and thought, what the heck, I think it would be an amazing challenge for our group.

Now, you don't have to be a fan of the groups listed to participate. You just have to be a fan of READING!

Here are the guidelines:

*Add your name here in this post if you are interested in the challenge.
*The goal is to cross off as many songs as you can throughout the course of 2017. You can complete them one album at a time, or hit your favourite song titles first... it's totally up to you!

*You cross off the songs by reading one book per song title that meets the criteria listed after each song title.

*You can copy and paste the entire list into your own thread, here in this folder, and strike through the song titles as you complete them.
(Note: to strike out the song title all you need to do is type in:

(<)s(>)then the song title(<)/s)>) - minus the brackets of course

*Do not add your list directly to this thread.

*YOU MUST LIST THE BOOK TITLE AND AUTHOR that coincides with the song as you complete it for the challenge so we know what you read!

For example:
“Goner"- read a book about dying - The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

Hope all these guidelines make sense, as they are pretty straight forward.

Challenge begins 1st January and ends 31 December 2017.

Bree (breesc23) EDITED 12/27:

I, Bree, am interested in doing this challenge, BTW :-)
---------------------------

Is it one book per song title/requirement or can one book meet the requirement of multiple songs?

Also, is Night Visions (Imagine Dragons) "Nothing Left to Say /Rocks" challenge: Read a book ABOUT a mute? Just want to make sure the missing word is "about".

Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know and I edited to add "about" to the request.

We are challenging you to read 1 book per song title :)

Farren (mmmcookies) Do we sign up here and you open a thread for us or do we open our own thread? I also have some obnoxious questions:

"The Judge" - read a book that sets you free
I must be slow because I don't get this lol

"Doubt" - read a book that you fear
A book you're afraid to read because of what you expect from it or the content of the book is scary to you?

"Goner" - read a book about dying
The MC is dying or any character can be dying?

First off, just let us know here, in this thread, that you are interested but please open your own thread and add the songs/albums you wish to tackle just by copying and pasting.

As far as your questions go I can definitely answer them for you :)

"The Judge" - read a book that sets you free - basically any book that feels like you are escaping from reality e.g fantasy

"Doubt" - read a book that you fear - can be either, one you fear to read or one that will scare you

"Goner" - read a book about dying - either MS or secondary character

Nicky | 17 comments This sounds like such a cool challenge. I have never participated in a book challenge so I think this would be a great start. Do we use the albums that you have suggested or do we create our own?
Love Twenty One Pilots by the way, and my son and I are going to see them in March, so would love to do this one.......

Ooh, I'd love to see Twenty One Pilots in concert...your son is very lucky :D
For the challenge you use the albums that we have suggested please. Once you have worked your way through them, if you have time, you most certainly can create your own.

The good thing is, any book you read for any other challenge can count towards this too, as long as they match the theme to the song.

If you scroll up ^ I've written out how you edit the song, not sure if you see it. However, at the top of the post box, highlighted in green in the right hand corner is (some html is ok). Click on this and you will find a list of formatting tools you can use. It shows you what you need to do to strike text out.

Just take one album at a time, that's what I'm doing, and I'm nearly finished an album off. If a book I've read didn't cover anything in that album, I scroll down and try to find the match with the others. This really is a "no pressure" sort of challenge. Just read a book and see what it matches :D
