When the Europeans started exploring the world 500 years ago via sea, they saw endless possibilities in trade. Instead of having a healthy trade relationship with different cultures, they began to seize the power of small countries using their power and money. Thus, they started to build colonies all around the world.

“In many cases, Europeans established settlements in the lands of these other cultures and came to dominate them. The term “colonialism” was invented to describe this overtaking of one culture by another.”

Colonialism brought some good things to these countries, like English education, a well-connected railway system, etc. But the negatives due to it were much higher than the benefits, and many people had to suffer and even lose their lives. This book discusses colonialism and how the world responded to it.
