୨⎯ Everyone should read this book!! ⎯୧

"Worry Lines" is this awesome graphic novel that tackles mental health stuff with these cool illustrations that just make the whole experience better. The drawings are simple, yet super encouraging and relatable. Some parts will crack you up, and others will make you think.

This book feels like a big hug from an old friend, as it was mentioned in the blurb!
The amount of time I related to this book is unbelievable! I'm sure whoever reads this would feel the same.

I didn't know about this artist's work before, but now I'm going to keep up with what they do and grab a physical copy of this book when it hits the shelves!

Making art that's easy to get, helps people connect, and gives that comforting feeling that you're not alone isn't an easy feat. "Worry Lines" nails it by showing we're all dealing with similar stuff in our own ways.

I'm definitely going to read this over and over again and recommend everyone to read it!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Worry Lines: You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances is a great book for anyone who suffers from stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and life in general. I could resonate with about 80% of this book, and the illustrations are spot on and uplifting as they make you feel seen, understood, and recognised.
This was such a fun book to read through and is one I'm going to purchase in physical form to pick up whenever I'm low or struggling. The book is broken down into 14 sections after an introduction from the author (who also has an Instagram page called Worry Lines and is well worth checking out!). Honestly this book is like a warm hug from someone who just gets it!

This is my new favorite book regarding mental health. Every page felt like I was being watched and someone put all of my fears and worries and emotions into this book and spelled them out perfectly. It’s amazing- because it also assured me that I’ll be okay. And it’s okay when I’m not. It also assured me that trying to be normal? Is overrated. And I’m perfect just the way that I am. That felt so validating. It was such an accurate and powerful showing of mental illness and feelings of helplessness or unhappiness. The graphics were simple, effective, cute, and consistent throughout in a way that was incredibly pleasing to view. It was witty and had great comedic breaks that felt necessary to lighten the books energy but also accurate to the way life is and how many of us cope with mental health.
It made me smile. It made me laugh. It felt like a hug. This book made me feel human. Like a human who isn’t alone.
I follow this instagram account, and I save nearly every post. Reading this book felt the same way. Each page I wanted to hold onto forever, and I wanted to carry with me as a reminder everywhere I go. I can’t recommend this one enough.

Miigweetch NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

"Worry Lines" is a heartwarming compilation that seamlessly translates the essence of the beloved Worry Lines Instagram account into a delightful book. The anonymous artist's ability to capture the intricacies of human emotions, from anxiety to love, is nothing short of remarkable. Each page feels like a reassuring pat on the back, and the whimsical tributes to the power of potatoes add a delightful touch. This book is not just a collection of illustrations; it's a genuine reminder that imperfection is a shared human experience, making it a thoughtful and uplifting gift for anyone navigating life's challenges.

I recommend this book to any reader in need of some gentleness or a reminder that it’s going to be ok.
4.5 out of five stars from me! An almost perfect collection of comics!

I am so glad I requested this book! The cover is just too cute and I could not resist to request for this!

This book is funny and relatable! It’s like every time I flip to a new page it makes me laugh. I love how the drawings are simple yet colourful. The words are short but funny and relatable. Even the drawings alone are relatable! This book is like a warm blanket in winter. I’ve not read any book like this that’s why I totally love it. I would love to have a physical copy of this and every time life feels unbearable and confusing, I will just open this book and read it again and again. It would definitely elevate my mood.

Thank you to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this ARC.

No llores. ¡Noooo! No llores. No te muestres angustiado, o cansado, o harto. NO.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free copy of the book!

I enjoyed reading this book so much. The art is pretty simple, but you can still tell what the character is feeling, which are things everyone goes through. This book delivers a really important message that it's okay if you're not perfect. With all things considered, you're doing the best you can and that's what is important. It's a great book that makes you sit and ponder for a little bit after reading it.

Just what I needed 🥹

Somehow, this book manages to capture complex feelings and present them perfectly through minimal text and drawings. It is also a fun and engaging read despite discussing mental health and other heavy topics. Not only is it filled with wonderful reminders and powerful affirmations, I also loved the wry and punny humour.

Super relatable, uplifting and a must-read for everyone!

This book felt like a hug, it was so relatable omg! I now know I'm not alone haha we think we're alone fighting our demons, that only we have problems, but at the end of the day we're all struggling with different things, and we can all be there to help each other. The illustrations are really cute btw! Rating: 5/5 stars.

This one feels like you’re going through greeting cards at the Hallmark store.

Each of the many, many, many drawings (it’s a big book) could be a T-shirt or a cute sign to hang in your office or in the bathroom.

Some are therapeutic. All speak to the importance of your mental health. It’ll take a bit of scrolling to get to the ones that speak to you, but rest assured-there’s gotta be page in here just for you. So be sure to screenshot it.

Also if you’re like me, you didn’t know that @worry_lines updates daily in Instagram. Cute follow.

What a wonderful book to give as a gift to friends and loved ones! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and wanted to immediately share a number of the pages with friends who I know could relate. Although I follow the author on Instagram and this is a compilation of comics that have already been shared there publicly, many of us will appreciate having them in physical form to hold, bookmark, and review when we need a little encouragement. The author groups the comics under topics like, "It's not over til I'm overthinking it," and "Nontoxic positivity," so you can find the comics that best pertain to how you're feeling that day. Whether you read the book cover to cover or just open it to enjoy a few pages at a time, you're reassured that your feelings are valid and you are not alone. All of us are "doing really well given the circumstances."
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a complimentary e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I fully intend to purchase myself a physical copy when it is released!

If at first you don't succeed, try, try not to spiral into the kind of self-loathing you've been conditioned to feel by a system that promotes unattainable goals and then converts your resulting insecurities into profit.

Disclaimer: I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley for free in exchange for my honest review. Review also cross-posted to NetGalley.

This was a super cute and super fast read, but I definitely agree with the description on the back - it feels like a hug! This would make such a great gifting book, honestly. Such a good little pick-me-up for any friends or family that might be going through a bit of a tough time. After all, who among us doesn't need to be told that we're doing really well given the circumstances, hm?

-- 3.5 stars --

Anxiety, depression, procrastination, potatoes, stress-eating and bingeing on autopilot, optimism vs. pessimism, non-toxic positivity, the joys of sleeping - WORRY LINES tackles many of the topics you'd expect, with varying degrees of success. I liked the overall vibe of the book, but not all of the comics resonated with me. Although those that did? I'd like to print them out and hang them on my bulletin board.

fwiw, this is a book I'd likely borrow from the library vs. buying a copy for everyday use.

I struggle to review books like this. I feel like people that need this book right now, will benefit from it. But it won't be for everyone. It's not a book you should read in one sitting. It is a book you pick up when you are feeling not that great.
I've been following Worry Lines for a while now and their comics have always resonated with me. Do I recommend it? Yes. Because we all struggle sometimes and this book is just a reminder that you are not alone in feeling like crap.

*I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks for the free comic book!*

"Worry Lines" was a very cute and life affirming and funny compilation of short comic strips. It covers mental health issues but also general life struggles. While the drawing style is rather minimalistic, I found the simplicity of it fitting given the topics. Short yes, but the wee strips make you chuckle or think. Wholesome overall!

4 stars because reading more than a few at once shows how repetitive some are.

I have followed this artist on IG for a couple of years and I love their webcomics. Lately, they haven't been hitting the same and I was a little disappointed, but I swear they just saved all the golden ones for this book. This book is a quick read but it's lovely, uplifting, relatable, and funny. It feels like a big hug from a friend. There is some humorously placed swears which personally doesn't bother me.

I received an advanced eBook copy from NetGalley. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

Worry Lines is the perfect book to read if you are feeling down, anxious, or stressed out. As someone with anxiety, I felt so seen and understood throughout the numerous comics and laughed so hard at the Who Left Me in Charge of Me section. I can definitely see myself rereading this book on my bad days, and I can't wait to purchase copies for my friends.

4.5 stars. I’d love to gift this to all my friends! Such a sweet book with comics both hilarious and inspiring. I had to take a few pictures of some of them to carry with me because the messages were so perfectly portrayed in the simple but adorable illustrations. They will be great little reminders to keep my chin up on days when it’s hard to see the sunshine.

I am so glad I requested this book, I didn’t know the artist at all and this was a wonderful discovery. This is a collection of vignettes that vary between funny, encouraging, self-loving and self-deprecating, but always with a kind and heartwarming tone. It’s entirely relatable for anyone who has ever felt anxious or worried, it’s easy to see oneself in those drawings.
Reading this book felt like drinking hot cocoa on a cold day and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
