In this gripping novelette from the author of "The Big Men" and "309," witness Roy Carter, a man with everything he ever wanted, confounded by an inexplicable event that completely disrupts his idyllic existence after apparently changing almost nothing about it. Prepare yourself for "Academic Displacement."
Michael Shotter is a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a lover of science, fiction, and fantasy, his works aim to push beyond the boundaries of traditional genre fiction into new and exciting realms born from literary craftsmanship.
A college professor is zapped by a UFO and shifted to parallel dimension only slightly different than his own. Disoriented, he tries to go to work, only to find that this dimension holds a double. He goes to the other's house, exactly like his own, and works out a plan...
The professor gets what he deserves.
Not bad. There are allegedly real accounts of experiences like this.
This story explores and produces a completely different type of experience than Michael Shotter's other works while still remaining artfully and unexpectedly connected. I don't want to reveal to much, but I do have to say I love how this book is connected to "309" and "The Big Men".
If you have experienced reading "309" this work is great fun exploring intricate details of events that occurred while offering a completely new perspective without rehashing the previous stories as so many authors tend to do.
