I'm tired of writing how cute this manga is in every other volume; please move on from cuteness and give us some drama or substance. It began to feel monotonous, and when will they both reciprocate one other's feelings??
The show, on the other hand, is killing it; the live adaptation brought this manga to a whole new level, with wonderful chemistry between the actors and their dramatic expressions.
The story kind of loses steam in this volume. It's just Aoki going back and forth on whether Ida actually likes him and why they're even dating. Just feels repetitive when he's already been doing that for the past couple of chapters. That bit finally got resolved so I'm excited to see how the story will evolve going forward.
This series is just so funny. Some of the panels are absolutely meme-worthy! Also Ida wondering what it means to like someone, he's defo on the aro spectrum!!!
Also Hashimoto is the cutest and I would die for her!
It’s a little annoying there’s so much miscommunication in this series but i do like the cute moments between the couples! I just hope for more drama soon!
Loved the growth we see throughout the cast in this volume. Poor Aoki wearing his heart on his sleeve, but it was so good to see Ida step up in the end!
This series just makes me so happy to read. It's incredibly cozy.
i've been so deep in the yaoi rabbit hole i forgot that i can still giggle, feel the butterflies in my stomach, and kicking my feet in the air when reading wholesome fluff shounen-ai mangas
A pleasing little romance. The main couple hits an on-again off-again phase due to lack of communication while a possible secondary couple starts to circle each other a bit more closely. It all unfolds against a backdrop of Christmas, New Year's, and a winter break.
Cozy and heartwarming.
My library now has all volumes of the series, so I hope to finish it in the coming week.
People do stupid things when they're uncomfortable. If there's a theme to this volume of My Love Mix-Up!, that would be it - that feeling awkward and on the spot can push people into doing some truly ill-advised things. Ida and Akkun are at the forefront of these behaviors, much to the distress of Hashimoto and Aoki, and while it doesn't quite come off as a marker of (im)maturity, it definitely paves the way for some monumental misunderstandings.
Some of those are more nonsensical than others, of course. Should Akkun 100% have known that "Sumo Hashi" was a terrible nickname to give to a girl who's crushing on you? Yes, yes he should have. Should Ida have not told his friends that he's dating Aoki? That's much less clear, and it only becomes an issue because Ida doesn't entirely understand how Aoki's anxiety functions. Basically if anxiety was fuel, Aoki could power a vessel on two loops around the globe, and that's pretty foreign to Ida's easy-going mentality. But part of building any kind of relationship is learning how to get along with each other despite any quirks, and that's something that Ida is definitely learning in this volume. It's lovely to see, and the near-total absence of gorilla faces can only elevate this entry in what is proving to be a consistently good series.
Basically have two people who never even thought of dating each other coming to terms will feeling comfortable to admit their feelings. After finally agreeing to date, and them dumping that said person within the first chapter of this volume, and then both trying to fix it while also selling cake on the streets in Christmas (makes more sense if you read it) it turned into a really cute volume. I wonder how we'll go from here.
I appreciate the author for writing Aoki as someone who does not like being laughed at or teased by their significant other. This is such a common yet hurtful trope :/ The author even addressed how boys are taught to tease and bully their crushes from a young age, and had Ida correct the child’s behavior and in turn he corrected his own!!! And the concept of consent exists in this BL???? WE LOVE TO SEE IT

Ida struggling to determine what it means to like someone, how that’s supposed to feel or like, and whether or not he likes Aoki the same way that Aoki likes him, is something I am relating with just too damn hard *deep breath*
No piensa.
This volume was so cute! We get to see a little spat that the two main characters have and we also get Christmas time! I love Christmas time in manga, especially romance manga, it's just so cute. This was a great volume, I think the relationship between the two guys progressed nicely. Overall, I enjoyed it and I can't wait for volume 5!
Ida, mein Herzblatt. Hach.
