i have read most of ruth ware's other books and i either really enjoy them because they are good and have me captivated the entire time or i find them to be kind of boring/ bleh. for a couple of them i have figured things out too easily which usually surprises me since i feel like you aren't supposed to be able to do that so quickly. there doesn't seem to be an in-between for me.

It was enjoyable and a good audiobook to pass my time with, but overall it’s pretty forgettable.
I liked the plot but something felt off. The chat takers were nice but I didn’t really connect to them.
Just a normal 3 star read.

Kept me reading

I love Ruth's books, I read them all, but this one wasn't my favorite. Maybe it was the modernizing with social media stuff or the slower pace. I will say I was wrong in my theory this time and once it got moving I had a hard time putting it down, but I don't know, it just didn't do it for me.

Really a 3.5 read. This reminds me of another book I read a couple of years ago. It felt so familiar the whole time I listened to it. It’s not a bad book but too much like the older one for me to get excited about.

I liked this book. The characters were all likable and believable. I did figure out who the killer was pretty early. That was a bit disappointing. It was a fast read. But not one of her best.
