For a book about a Prince of Hell, a personified Sin, who was not Lust, everyone in this book was way too fucking horny.
Truth is, nothing was missing For a book about a Prince of Hell, a personified Sin, who was not Lust, everyone in this book was way too fucking horny.
Truth is, nothing was missing here. Maybe it's the opposite.
It was fun all the way through, though I enjoyed the chunk that took place in the mortal world a lot more, but it kept on going and I get a standalone fantasy is going to be longer than other stories, was it that necessary here? I think we get enough information, added to the previous trilogy in this universe.
I don't really enjoy when main characters are keeping a secret from the readers (even if it's something you can figure it out on your own at a certain point, withholding information feels like a desperate attempt to surprise us) I hope we get more books about the other Princes, specially with how Sloth was portrayed here....more

I don't think I've ever highlighted and annotated a book this much. Thank you, S. T. for writing about most of my exes and how fucked up they were, then deciding to publish it as a vampire story [image]...more

Feels like a CW show, but that 3rd season, when we get the interesting backstories and good plot because the writers finally realized the potential in the story. S Isabelle was able to accomplish that without making us wait two seasons or adding CoverGirl ads in between

''Bury my bones deep, that I might feel the flames of Hell -Last words of Margery Lemont, recorded by those present at her burial''
This is everything I've ever wanted from dark academia, hell, everything I've ever wanted in a book. This is what I wanted The Secret History to feel like. Victoria Lee gave me everything and managed to give the world a wonderful book with no male characters.

From this point I guess you could consider these as light spoilers (light because they're totally out of context) but I have to share my thought process in the form of pictures I've been saving from Twitter from the past years.

The fact that we had an unreliable narrator makes this book even better for me. Maybe that's the main reason I loved it so much. But just remember: take your meds, kiddos! No matter how much you think you don't need to, If you start feeling like you're being haunted by your ex that cannot mean anything good for your sweet pretty brain. Of course, you could just blame it on the witches. To each their own.

From now on, you can probably find me sitting on my bed at 3am thinking about Felicity and how I would like to start a formal petition to add her to our ''Good For Her'' canon.
I'll write something better and actually helpful to those looking into reading this book later, when my will to live comes back from the grave.
