Jack realised all you had to do was play too. “
Grandpa was a RAF pilot of a spitfire in World War II. The war has been long over, but Grandpa has an aging memory and this he’s back fighting. He is starting to cause trouble and people want him sent to an old folks home. But something sinister is afoot and Grandpa and his grandson, Jack, must head into battle together to set it straight.
This author gave me all the flashbacks to Ronald Dahl with an engaging, creative story and illustrations throughout. This book had the potential to be sad because of the topic of Grandpa losing his memory, but the author handled it so creatively and with a beautiful ending.

There is no such thing as a problem boy - only problem parents. All cats love meat, and all boys love camp. That's the way it was in the days of my grandfather — that's the way it is now.”
Every year boys around Ontario are sent off to summer camp to have fun, play, and make friends. Rudy is sent to camp on an island and is not like the other boys because he doesn't want to be there. He refuses to join in on any activities, constantly trying to escape, and makes all the camp counsellors want to pull their hair out. When Rudy makes a friend named Mike will this make him want to stay, or will it be double the trouble?
I love this author and this book was another hit for me. The characters were funny, and the plot was simple but enjoyable.
