It was told very well with a few narrators of the book for different parts of it. The Osages were given land to live on that was inhospitable until it spewed oil. Then the Osages were rich. But still the white man had to have control of them and try to get the money from them. It is a sad story but a well told one. Apparently, this is when Hubert Hoover decided to put together a group of National Lawmen which came to be the FBI.
The book got a little dray about two thirds in and that is the only thing that did not give a 5-star rating. I am looking forward to seeing the movie now...more

Jesperson & Lane are private detectives very similar to Sherlock and Holmes. They travel to where Charles Manning was staying before he died to see what other causes of his death there may be. They encounter a couple of more mysteries while trying to solve the one that brought them there.
The pacing was nice and steady, and I enjoyed the characters of Jesperson & Lane as well. There was a twist at the end which I suspected but not the why.
I am going to go back and read the first book in this series. ...more

I really enjoyed this and will continue the series....more

I really enjoyed the story of Delly and Winn throughout the story. Winn's saying "what" after each sentence was a bit annoying at first but I grew to like it. I liked that a bunch of "witches" getting together to stop the drug trade especially since they are from different backgrounds.
