Does June Jordan even need my praise... gorgeous gorgeous all the way through... most understandably 'love poem' titled love poems I've read in a while, here's a favorite:

“Roman Poem Number Ten

Quarter past midnight and the sea
the dark blue music
does not belong to me

an elephant desire
heavy speeding whisper phantom
elephantom atmosphere

the heart rip hurts me
like the let go at the cliff

fell down shallow
loose and cold

let go
let go”
