I have mixed feelings about it. on one hand, I get the critique on the elite. their almost cult-like obsession with their image and how they represent themselves to the world. on the other hand, I do believe this novel just felt empty? maybe that’s the point? to understand Patrick’s self absorbed, narcissistic, mysogynistic psyche?

I do have to say that the excessive description, which I also believe is the point, really started to annoy me. I felt like I was reading a book with no ending. just a bunch of jumbled words.

also, if you’re not a fan of gore, do not read this. I do not recommend it at all.
