Get ready for a sizzling August as a wave of K-pop icons returns with fresh tracks to set the summer alight. Headlining this month's comeback lineup are big names including Le Sserafim, Taemin, ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) and NMIXX, all poised to keep fans cool with their hot new releases.
NMIXX
Known for its outstanding onstage performances, K-pop girl group NMIXX is set to return with a new album, "Fe3O4: STICK OUT," slated for release on Aug. 19.
The JYP girl group already created a buzz for the upcoming release with an unconventional promotion — a teaser video released Monday featuring a glitchy device with a mysterious phone number on its screen.
Upon dialing the number, callers are treated to eerie messages from each of the six NMIXX members — Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, BAE, Jinni and Kyujin — depending on which number, from one to six, is pressed.
With its previous lead single, "DASH," winning over both fans and the general public, expectations are high for how NMIXX will captivate listeners this time around.
Taemin
Recently departing from SM Entertainment to pursue a solo career, SHINee member Taemin has also announced his upcoming album release, which is slated for August.
Scheduled for release on Aug. 19, Taemin's fifth mini-album "Eternal" marks his return to solo work after 10 months out, following the release of "Guilty" last October.
In celebration of his 10th anniversary since debuting, Taemin will also kick off his first solo world tour, "Ephemeral Gaze," starting with a performance in Korea on Aug. 31.
ZEROBASEONE (ZB1)
ZB1 is also making a swift return in August with their fourth mini-album, "Cinema Paradise."
The rookie supergroup unveiled a promotional poster for the new album via official social media channels, Monday, without revealing the exact date of their comeback. This comes just three months after its last work, "You Had Me at HELLO."
Building on its popularity, the group has continuously strived to expand its global presence, performing at events such as the Grammy Museum’s “Global Spin Live” and “KCON LA 2024,” further connecting with international fans.
Le Sserafim
Following its extensive international experience, K-pop girl group Le Sserafim will also make their return at the end of August.
Source Music, Le Sserafim's agency, confirmed that while the exact release date is not yet set, the group is preparing for a comeback later next month. This will be their first release since February’s mini-album "EASY," marking a six-month gap between projects.
In addition to the exciting roster, the HYBE-affiliated girl group fromis_9 is set to return with its new album, "Supersonic," on Aug. 12, following rookie girl group UNIS and its new single, "Curious," on Aug. 6. Solo artists Hwasa, Jeon Somi and Hyolyn have also announced activities for August, setting the stage for a competitive month on the charts.
