Leading through uncertainty is a significant aspect of a leader’s job but even with that said, sometimes circumstances and challenges can push even the most seasoned leaders to the limits of their capabilities. To successfully lead others, leaders must first learn to lead themselves. Transparency engineers confidence! If you aren’t open with your team, they’ll presumably imagine the worst. Although it is unnecessary to share absolutely everything with team members as only you can decide how much to share, don’t forget to give them sufficient context when you notify your team of a recent development. When you fail to do so, they might misinterpret the information or not comprehend where it fits in the bigger picture.

It's quite common postpone communication due to planning for the "right time" as change is progressing. But even when you don't have all decision or definition, be loyal and trustworthy by sharing what you have on a regular agenda. Set the right tool, moment or schedule to feed your team with fresh information and let them comfortable to make questions and express their concerns if there's any. You will learn and capture risks faster and manage uncertainty.

A plan shall be your action to respond to strategic objectives to move you from state A to state B. Having your strategic objectives well defined and communicated will ensure that every action to reach the new state will actually get you there. If a defined project or program doesn't make sense along the way, you shall be flexible to change your course of action in order to fulfill your objectives and be consistent on your strategy as uncertainty is certain.

Je crois que l'incertitude n'est pas le moment idéal pour élaborer les plans , quand il y a incertitude il faut plutôt communiquer et rassurer les afin de ranimer en eux la confiance.

Uncertainty will always come with a demand for change. And you may realize that people is averse to changes. However the emotion behind any change is the fear of loosing, no the change. People spend all their lives learning more, getting better salary, moving to better jobs or buying bigger apartments. And in any change people loose at least their knowledge, their comfort zone or their status quo. If you reduce that fear with a transparent communication with the real reasons behind any needed change, that resistance will be converted to motivation. And chances are higher you will succeed.
