Your game's sales are dropping due to negative reviews. How can you reassure worried investors?

Negative reviews doesnt have to say your game is doing bad. Some of the reviews might say your pricing is too high or so. Examine the reviews carefully and maintain contact with players via zendesk system or google forms and let the investors know you're on it.

1. A timely and personalized developer response to the reviewer assuring the complaint well received, and corresponding work. 2. Explain the balance between Revenue and Vitals of products. Absence of either one is a problem. 3. Check if the things are addressable without harming KPIs and update. 4.. Respond precisely WHY did user find that particular function and WHY it is necessary; better in same localized language. 5. Manage a backlog file of reviews and compile the data showing progress in overall rating.

Don't sugarcoat the situation with investors. Be transparent with them but then lay out the plan to address it. You don't want them finding out for themselves as it benefits you to control the narrative, and you don't want to be perceived as having hidden the issue from them.

The key thing I've learned about working with player feedback is to tell apart useful comments from ones that will derail your process. Approaching negative reviews as a rule of thumb ask yourself one question: are they pointing out actual problems with my game as it was presented to them, or are their complaints based on the fact that my game and the game they were expecting to get are two different products, out of which the latter exists only in their minds. If it's the first scenario - add that feedback to your backlog. Get back to it as soon as you can. Address it. Reply to the review and point out the problem was fixed, or at least there was an improvement. If it's the second one - that player won't ever be happy with your game.

Engaging the community is critical to mitigate damage to the game's reputation, and to have any chance of recovery from a sales perspective. The community needs to feel that you've acknowledged their concerns and that you have a plan to address them.

Good marketing and PR can be helpful in this situation to help change the conversation. However you don't want to come off tone deaf, or make it seem like you're trying to avoid the obvious problems which are causing the negative reviews.

Problems always arise (often twice as many as you expect). What matters is being able to solve them. This is how you can survive. Having problems isn't the issue; unresolved problems are what concern investors. I am sure that solving problems will make them trust you more than before.
