Duties And Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Economics with focus on infusing business sustainability principles, practices, and case studies throughout curriculum;
  • Teach Economics courses at the undergraduate and MBA program level which also include dual degrees in MBA/Sustainability, and MBA/Food Studies, in areas such as: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Managerial Economics, Environmental Economics, Global Financial Systems and Economic Development;
  • Develop and maintain an active research program in the field and publish findings in professional journals;
  • Develop course outlines and/or syllabi for courses taught and ensure courses meet Chatham University standards;
  • Evaluate and revise curricula and course content;
  • Administer and grade examinations;
  • Take on an advising load of graduate and undergraduate students;
  • Stay informed on changes and innovations in the field by engaging in program, university, and professional service activities.

Requirements

  • Requires Ph.D. degree in Economics, Applied Economics, or economics-related field or foreign degree equivalent and 1 year of experience in job offered or as a Postdoctoral Associate in Economics or Economics-related field.
  • 12 months' experience teaching undergraduate-level economics course.
  • Experience researching institutional economics in governmental policy.
  • Experience must include performing quantitative research in applied economics and economic policy.
  • Knowledge of the application of advanced statistical methods.
  • Knowledge of quantitative research and methods.
  • Evidence of scholarly research and published work in peer-reviewed journals relevant to the field of economics.
  • Position requires travel to domestic conferences 2-3 times per year in unanticipated locations in the United States; location depends on conference organizers.
