Overcoming Procrastination and Boosting Confidence

6 Fresh Approaches to Get Things Done and Feel Empowered

Do you struggle with putting things off and feeling insecure in your abilities?

These common challenges can hold you back, but they don't have to.

Here are 6 fresh approaches to overcoming procrastination and boosting confidence.

Plan and prioritize: By creating a to-do list and prioritizing tasks, you can stay focused and avoid procrastination.

I like to cap my daily list at 5 things to avoid overwhelm and I use an app to help me track my progress. If something doesn’t get done it rolls over to the next day. If I can delegate something out I sometimes consider this as an option.

Use visualization: Visualizing yourself successfully completing a task can help increase motivation and reduce stress.

I tend to think about how good it will feel once a task is done to keep me motivated to complete it. Especially if it’s a task I don’t enjoy doing it brings focus to a difficult situation.

Keep a positive mindset: Focusing on positive thoughts and reframing negative thoughts can help reduce stress and increase confidence.

I tend to do this daily by thinking about how far I’ve come and where I’m heading in life to praise myself on my achievements no matter how small.

Take breaks: Taking short breaks throughout the day can help refresh your mind and reduce stress, making it easier to get things done.

If I feel myself switching off or getting distracted I take myself away from the situation and come back with a fresh mind. If the same thing happens then I assess the situation to work out the trigger so I can find a solution.

Surround yourself with inspiration: Surrounding yourself with things that inspire and motivate you, such as quotes, music, or books, can help keep you focused and confident.

Sometimes I’ll put mindfulness music on in the background to keep stress levels low and increase focus. I also like to surround myself with people of a similar positive mindset to lift me up energy wise.

Practice self-compassion: Treating yourself with kindness and understanding can help reduce stress and increase confidence.

I used to be so hard on myself and now I congratulate myself for anything I achieve each day. I’m also kind to myself for the things I don’t achieve and know that tomorrow I’ll try again.

By adopting these 6 new approaches, you can overcome procrastination and boost confidence.

Remember, change takes time, but with persistence and determination, you can get things done and feel empowered.
