Kellogg's to cut sugar in kids' cereals by up to 40%, with developments to keep the same great taste!
A proud day as a significant body of work on the Kellogg's Cereal team is announced to the media today.
Kellogg's has a great history of improving the nutrition of our products over time, weather that be through surprising Greg Wallice on the salt reductions in Corn Flakes over the last 10 years, or adding Vitamin D to cereals, but today's sugar announcement is a standout moment for me.
Standout because we are following the consumer and leading the way by taking the bestselling children’s cereals, ensuring they continue to taste as good while reducing the sugar by up to 40% and increasing the amount of Vitamin D to be 50% of GDA.
Following the consumer also means not restricting choice and while there will be challenges that Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and Frosties continue to have higher levels of sugar we know that these products are chosen by Adults who want sweet products.
Great work by the food development team to make all this possible, I know I will enjoy watching my girls enjoy the fun of Coco Pops and Rice Kripies even more now.

6ySo weird. Just yesterday I thought “when will kids cereal die”. It was such a staple and takes up so much of the store but my kids are not really into it.

6yWhat will take the salt and sugar’s place? When you remove something in a food (especially something that adds flavor ) something needs to take it's place.
