From Zero to Billions with Kotlin (no, its not about 💰 ) For those who missed it or weren't able to be at #KotlinConf, we're happy to share with you Arnaud's talk about building a high-performance #Kotlin app in just two months, handling billions of events. The idea for this adventure, which is still ongoing, is how we at Kotzilla can provide more value to Kotlin devs and teams. We have a great open-source framework, Koin, but we aim to offer more to help you daily with professional dev tools. The biggest challenges that Koltin devs tell us they face are #technicaldebt, non-scaling architecture, and collapsing applications without teams knowing the root cause. Our goal is to create Cloud-Inject, a development platform to help debug app architecture, spot refactoring, memory, and performance issues, and monitor production behavior. By understanding where your product struggles, you can deliver it better. For this build, the focus was on creating a robust backend with great tools and a streamlined architecture. Key Highlights: 🔍 Leveraged #Koin, our open-source dependency injection framework, to simplify development. 🛠 Chose a simple yet powerful stack: #Ktor, Koin, #Exposed, and #PostgreSQL for rapid iterations. ☁ Deployed on Google Cloud Platform, utilizing Cloud Run for seamless auto-scaling and Google Cloud Storage for massive file handling. 📈 Scaled from 100K to 1.7 billion events in just two days, proving our system's resilience and performance. Overcame challenges like manual pagination and documentation generation, and refined our infrastructure for optimal efficiency. A big shoutout to our team for their dedication and hard work! We're excited to continue exploring new solutions and pushing the boundaries of Kotlin development. 🌟 Follow this journey here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dGr3daUa #Kotlin #BackendDevelopment #TechInnovation #CloudComputing #Startups #KotlinConf
