Approximately 80% of patient records contain genomics data in disparate genetic reports and free-text clinician notes. Deep 6 AI allows you to find specific genetic markers in the depths of the medical record across structured and unstructured data. 19,000 genes, multiple mutation types (e.g., substitution, deletion, duplication, insertion, and indel), and over 30,000 locus-specific mutation names. #genomics #precisionmedicine #clinicaltrials https://lnkd.in/e2Y-RNDB

The human element is critical when evaluating AI technology in this space. When looking at vendors' AI platforms, particularly if they're using Natural Language Processing (NLP) to find relevant output in EMR free text for a specific trial... Make sure to understand ALSO what manual review is being done to ensure the data is most useful and who is doing the manual review. Will this be a collaborative effort just at the onset? Or is it throughout the partnership? It's important. Ask!

Coming back from ASCO, there's a real interest and intrigue in using AI/NLP to find patients for tough studies with complex protocols. Bottom line - there are a few players out there in the precision patient matching space and you will be hit up from many of them. 1st thing to you should do is ask them how comprehensive their data sets are. The 2nd thing to do is compare them with our overall numbers below. 3rd thing, message me up so we can talk about your study 😉!! Trial Trove - 45,000+ data sources - 165+ countries in all geographic areas - 250+ diseases in 8 major therapeutic areas Site Trove - 480,000+ clinical investigators, MD or equivalent, profiled by experience - 175,000+ sites by trial type and experience - 180+ countries Worldwide SKIPTA - Private, pro network of 32 specialized online medical communities - 1.7M+ US & 400,000+ OUS healthcare providers - Members prioritized based on ICD10 claims, geo proximity and specialty Lab - 225M US Lives - Data sourced from top reference Labs & 100+ hospitals / health systems - 155M lab patients with linked claims data - Includes lab, biomarker & genomic data Claims - US claims data on 300M US lives - Covers both open & closed claims data - 60% of patients have 2+ years of data - Commercial, Medicaid & Medicare Advantage EMR/EHR - 42M US Lives - Over 500 hospitals and health systems - Inpatient & outpatient care with structured and unstructured clinical data - 2/3 patients have lab test results + clinical notes

10 thoughts as we walk into Summer, 2024: 1. G-d will lead the way. Just breathe baby!! 2. You hear people say they want shit to be easy. But I think what they really mean is they want to be at ease. 3. The only way out is through. You have to Just. Keep. Going. The only question is, will you? 4. We are the most vulnerable after a big win. Lock in and stay humble. 5. What’s important about a big purchase is what had to become of us to get there. Who did we become en route? 6. Poker teaches us that things can completely change with the turn of a card. How are you preparing for that? 7. Motivation is not an authority. You don’t need permission to get shit done if you’re unmotivated to do so. 8. Why are we so fascinated with humans that move like robots and robots that move like humans? 9. Unfortunately or fortunately, pain is almost always going to be the way we change. Not an absolute, but almost always. And the irony is that we’re wired to steer clear of pain. In others words, you want change? We kinda have to seek pain. Ugh! 10. The top 1% of earners in the US make about $820K per year. The top 5% earns ~$336K and top 10% about $168K, according to Investopedia updated October, 2023. If you didn’t know that, yas do now!!

G-d be with and bless you and your family, Genevieve 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️!!!!
♾️Bestselling Author of Quantum Kids Guardians of AI | Healthcare and Life Science Advisor | Data Ethics Evangelists | R&D Impact Influencer♾️
*final update* I just spoke to Michael this morning unfortunately Genevieve's oncologist and the family had to make the difficult decision to send her into hospice as soon as she's able to get out of the hospital they don't think she can endure the trial and there are signs of the cancer has unfortunately cross the blood brain barrier. I don't know how to thank this community properly. You provided hope, that is priceless. It's not the outcome we were hoping for but the family holds deep appreciation for everyone who rallied around Genevieve Michael, and the kids to give them one last shot. I'm posting today on behalf of a beautiful family, Michael and Genevieve. They have two little children, 6 and 4. Michael is the brother of my sister in law - so this is a personal appeal. Genevieve is on her last option. Before Christmas she was told her options were limited, but after a second opinion she was able to try a combo chemo regimen of gemcitabine and cisplatin (6 cycles). They slowed progression but didn't reverse or shrink her tumours and she can only get 2 more cycles. But she and her family refuse to give up! There is a potential silver lining! Her oncology teams think she is a great fit for a phase 1 proton #clincialresearch study being run Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and Sibley Memorial Hospital. (no industry sponsor that I can beg...) There are only 12 spots in the trial and 11 are filled. (hear that my #patientrecruitment and #sponsor friends?! She would be last patient in and help advance the cause of #science) Because of the complexity of our healthcare landscape, despite her being eligible and willing to participate, her insurance CareFirst is forcing them through a multi-step appeal process (appeal 1 of 3 was denied, 2 appeal went in today) and it won't go to an independent review committee until the final round... which could be too late. I am seeking support from our amazing network to 📞connect us to anyone or any organisation that might help us either find a way to get the appeal escalated 🔝or get a foundation grant/etc. to cover the one-day treatment of proton therapy which will cost $35,000. A gofundme isn't a fast enough option. We are also hoping to get coverage of any complimentary services, medicines, procedures, Imaging, Medications, and follow up appointments if needed - but right now just getting coverage for that one day treatment is the priority. I know that many in my dear patient advocacy community understand the financial toxicity that comes along with a rare and aggressive #cancer similar to the one Genevieve is battling. Asking a family to somehow figure out how to pay for this out of pocket is heartbreaking at best but I have seen this network do amazing things and I have hope you can help again.

It has to be extremely difficult knowing there are patients out there that would be eligible for your trial under the care of physicians that you're NOT working with. And we know that the physicians, particularly Oncologists are rarely, if ever going to refer outside of network. So, what can you do? Couple things: 1st: Get better and smarter with those sites/PIs that you ARE working with. 2nd: Amplify this reach to treating HCPs, especially those dealing with newly diagnosed patients. If you're thinking, okay how can I learn more? Shoot me a message and let's talk PatientMatch!
