There have been some great articles and presentations recently highlighting the value of genome sequencing to increase rare disease diagnoses: 💡 In an article published in the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers were able to diagnose 8% of an 822 family combined cohort with genome sequencing that were missed with other methods. https://lnkd.in/dStKj9qs 💡 Similarly, in work presented at ESHG by the National Center for Genomic Analysis in Spain, genome sequencing delivered a diagnosis to 90 out of 836 families who had remained undiagnosed after exome sequencing as part of the Solve-RD research project. https://lnkd.in/e6ipbMDG 💡 Watchmaker offers a highly scalable and accurate solution for PCR-free whole genome sequencing – enabling the use of lower input amounts and expanding the range of samples that can be analyzed with this essential tool.
