Was this ok?

[edit]

Hey was it ok if I added a bit more to the plot on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Viking Fox Queen (talk) 04:23, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That is not an area that I know much about other than the plot seems a bit on the long side. I suggest taking a look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Film#Plot. — JJMC89 23:34, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation question

[edit]

Hi JJMC89, I have a question about starting a sockpuppet investigation. In one article, a BLP, I can provide evidence that someone has made 7 sockpuppets to edit it, all putting the subject of the article in a good light. I want to start the investigation, but as the warning on the start page says, "Do not link to or include material that may reveal personal information about an editor. Doing so is outing and will be dealt with accordingly." The problem is that even if I just list the facts, anyone reading it will instantly ascertain that the sockpuppets most likely come from the actual subject of the BLP - revealing their identity, something I do not want to do. If there a way to avoid this or do I just state the usernames, the BLP article that they edit and leave it at that? Any help would be great, best regards, Cardofk (talk) 22:26, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Cardofk: You can link the edits and describe on-wiki similarities that demonstrate that they are the same person. Let anyone who reads it draw their own conclusion about who it is. What we don't want is posting or linking to personal information – see WP:OUTING. — JJMC89 23:41, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, very helpful, will do, cheers, Cardofk (talk) 11:20, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
