Terra Blevins

I'm a final year PhD student in the Natural Language Processing group at the University of Washington. Starting Fall 2025, I'll be an assistant professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University.

I'm generally interested in linguistic analysis of NLP models and multilingual NLP. I also work on using these analysis insights to build better NLP systems. Recently, this has involved studying multilingual models to learn how they acquire unsupervised cross-lingual transfer, and designing multilingual modeling approaches to better represent low-resource languages.

During my Ph.D., I've been advised by Luke Zettlemoyer and supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. I graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Computer Science where I worked with Kathy McKeown.
