Bug Description
Groundcontrol crashes the Nautilus-Elementary fork when attempting to rename a file on the local filesystem. Removal of Groundcontrol fixes this behaviour.
Additionally, in the Nautilus-Elementary fork, Groundcontrol-
But several forks of Nautilus are about to go to Upstream: Nautilus Split-Pane fork will make it into Lucid or Lucid+1 and so will Nautilus Elementary, probably. Groundcontrol should therefore ensure that it will still work when those forks make it back into the main Nautilus.
I can submit a new bug-report for this, if needed.

Nautilus crashes on me in Karmic sometimes when trying to rename a file. I don't know how to get bug information, so I haven't submitted one, but I'm sure one already exists.
So I'm not 100% that this has to do with Ground Control.
