Autopatrol

[edit]
I am requesting autopatrolled rights to upload .mp3 files from LibriVox, e.g.~(https://librivox.org/out-from-the-heart-by-james-allen/), which are in the public domain in the U.S. I realise I do not have a large number of edits on Commons, but have >30k on Wikisource, and this request is to enable file uploads for Wikisource texts. Thanks, TeysaKarlov (talk) 20:24, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like some more edits from you. You're autopatrolled on English Wikisource so edit count isn't as big a deal, but 69 edits is still rather low. Abzeronow (talk) 22:26, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Abzeronow Thanks for the prompt response. Given that there are many things that I should/would rather be working on on Wikisource, I am not sure how quickly I will build up more edits on Commons. I'll see how I go, but if I don't end up with more edits within the next month or so, feel free to close this request, assuming I can ping you/reopen it when I do. Thanks, TeysaKarlov (talk) 20:55, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have 1,377 edits to my name in Commons, and only found out that I can't overwrite files as of last week. Most of my edits are to SVG files, and I don't expect this to change much. I would like to continue. Thank you. RayneVanDunem (talk) 16:45, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am a long-time contributor to Wikimedia projects and have a good understanding of the policies and guidelines. I am also an administrator on the Arabic Wikipedia and would like to request Autopatrol status for my account. This permission would be particularly useful for me as I need to export a number of audio files from the Arabic Wikipedia. --Nehaoua (talk) 19:54, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have over 2000 edits on here and am trying to overwrite File:Tallulah1.jpg which needs to be flipped. I expect I may run into some similar situations in the future. Thank you. QuincyMorgan (talk) 01:16, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have uploaded over 400 files on here, almost 900 edits on Commons and I am trying to overwrite some files with a larger upscaled version, e.g. or maps with a higher resolution. Thank you. Mike Krüger (talk) 19:59, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I review requests at w:en:WP:FFU where this right would be useful (e.g. for this request which has been waiting). Thank you. C F A 💬 03:06, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have 585 edits and am trying to overwrite File:STS132-E-11275 - View of Louisiana.jpg, which has a big whitespace at the bottom. Thank you. Freedom4U (talk) 03:59, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request the appropriate user rights to overwrite files, as this will help me continue my contributions effectively. I have 2,638 edits on Commons and frequently work with SVG files. Thank you. ꠢꠣꠍꠘ ꠞꠣꠎꠣ (talk) 07:30, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to be able to overwrite files, so that I can replace lower-resolution government portraits with higher-resolution ones I find. I have 59,894 edits on Commons. Thank you. Clay (talk) 06:29, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning! I am requesting rollback to revert vandalism faster as part of my crosswiki vandalism efforts. I already have rollback access on three wikis. ToadetteEdit (talk) 07:48, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Filemover

[edit]
See also: Renaming guideline.
Hello to all administrators. I am mainly working on building a reliable wiki database of native plant species (wikipedia, wikispecies, wikimedia commons, wikidata). I often upload photos that capture important morphological traits of each plant species, and sometimes those species is correctly identified after uploading. New species are often discovered, especially in the orchid family, and reclassifications are often made. It is important for our purposes that the file name of the image represents the correct species name based on the latest classification. To facilitate the above editing process, I request "Filemover" privileges. Thank you. BeautifulMedia (talk) 05:59, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I would like to apply for the right to move files. It often happens that files uploaded by me are moved if it turns out afterwards what I have actually photographed, what can be seen in the photo (e.g. the exact name of a mountain in a mountain range, the special feature or the name of a building on a street, the exact species or genus of a plant or an animal, etc.). Unfortunately, sometimes a typo or two creeps in during mass uploads, which then continues throughout the entire series. To avoid creating unnecessary extra work, I would like to be able to move these files myself if possible. --Anil Ö. (talk) 00:41, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. When I upload photos in bulk, especially through the mobile app, issues like incorrect sorting or naming can occur. Therefore, I would like to become a filemover to quickly correct both my own mistakes and those of other users without leaving redirects, and to help reduce the workload of other admins. Thank you. --bluetime93 💬 14:38, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I frequently place requests to move files with errors and meaningless names and would like to be able to do this myself in the future and avoid extra work as well as handle requests made by others. I am familiar with the guidelines determining when to rename and not to rename. Thanks, --Ankermast (talk) 11:36, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am part of a team organising Marathi Literature database. I need to move files in standard format. Thank you. कल्पनाशक्ती (talk) 11:33, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@कल्पनाशक्ती: I'm instantly closing this as  Not done. You have not actively contributed here during last three years and have not made any rename requests either, as far as I can see. Please come back here again once you have demonstrated enough knowledge around file moving criteria etc. Regards, Aafi (talk) 12:18, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
also at the top of this section, there is a note saying As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made at least 1,000 useful, non-botlike edits or a large amount of justified renaming requests at Commons before they will consider granting the filemover right - and you just have 108 edits. Maybe contribute actively in the next three months and demonstrate with rename requests that you understand the file renaming criteria and policy.
