Hck-Src homology 2 (SH2) domain is not recruited to carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 3 without the cytoplasmic domain (CEACAM3 ΔCT), even though bacteria still bind to the receptor. 293T cells were transfected to express far-red fluorescent protein (mKate)-Hck-SH2 and CEACAM3 ΔCT-enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP). After addition of AF647-labeled OpaCEA-expressing Neisseria gonorrhoeae the infection process was monitored for 2 h. Scale bar: 10 μm. |
