Description
English: Photo taken at the Lofoten War Memorial Museum (Norwegian: Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum) in Svolvær, Norway's largest exhibition of uniforms and smaller items related to the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway 1940 – 1945:
  • Mannequin dressed in a field uniform as a Gebirgsjäger, a alpine/mountaineer soldier of the Wehrmacht Heer, the army of Nazi Germany, trained for mountain and winter combat
    • Peaked ski cap (Bergmütze, "mountain cap") with turned-up ear flaps and buttoned front closure
      • German national emblem (eagle-and-swastika Hoheitszeichen) and tri-colour cockade (Reichskokarde) cloth patch
      • Metal Edelweiss flower cap insignia for moutain
    • Tunic (Waffenrock, Feldbluse, "field blouse") with turn-down collar, four pleated patch pockets, turn-back cuffs, etc.
    • Snow goggles (Schneebrille), tobacco pipe, etc.
