File:Sofia Bresser Selfie.png

[edit]

User:Kacamata tagged File:Sofia Bresser Selfie.png for speedy deletion, and you deleted it, as a copyright violation. User:Kacamata has a history of tagging images for speedy deletion that included images that had credible claims of "own work", and which either, should have been the subject of a deletion discussion, or which weren't really candidates for deletion, at all. In particular, he or she has targetted images where the uploader claimed it was their own work, where there was no reason to doubt it was their own work.

If Sofia Bresser is a notable person, even just a person who measures up to {{w|WP:CSD#A7|A7}} notability, then her properly licensed selfie should be in scope here. Sofia Bresser is allowed to use her favourite selfie on her own web page, under some other license, and upload it her under a free license.

So, the URL you or Kacamata found, which this image duplicated? Was it reasonable that it too was under Ms Bresser's control? Geo Swan (talk) 18:21, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It was just an Instagram photo without a proper licence and permission. --Polarlys (talk) 20:58, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Polarlys Geo Swan has a history of stalking, wikihunting and harassing other users, this is why he was banned in the en.WP. It seems that I'm their new target. Just for you to understand the context here. Kacamata! Dimmi!!! 21:33, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Query regarding the deleted file of "File:Indian Embassy in São Tomé.png"

[edit]

I noticed about the deletion log of the file "Indian Embassy in São Tomé.png" under copyright violation terms. I have some query regarding that. the image was already present before the nomination and deletion, and was no where present except for the file. The Embassy's picture was used just in here and no where else; even the official twitter account had none, after my visit to the pages. and, since the English wiki page of that Indian embassy was also deleted, I could not find where the copy right violation had come from. Could you please explain what source it accounted had a copy right violation, and what the exact date the source was published, so that the image's upload date could be checked? 110.235.217.103 06:19, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The image was uploaded at a time, when it had been available from another website without a free licence for months. Regards, --Polarlys (talk) 11:22, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It would be grateful of you to cite the article which cause this copyright dispute. Perhaps if not the image, at least the article could be used indirectly for citations. Also otherwise, it could be really well helpful to collect and add another reference for the Diplomatic mission page mage at another language wikipedia. 110.235.217.103 15:50, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Um, sir? can you please share the article if possible? 110.235.217.103 09:17, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I'm here on a voluntary basis. The image was a blatant copyright infringement. I will not make any further effort regarding the image as it cannot be used in accordance with the licence. Greetings, --Polarlys (talk) 16:29, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's.....not what I am suggesting at all. I just wanted to get the source to cite it as another reference. That's okay if you refuse. 110.235.217.103 09:24, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for closing this DR. Some files still remain, could you solve this? I'd rather not do it, because I listed these images for deletion. Kind regards, Ellywa (talk) 16:39, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, they were all deleted in the first place, maybe some caching issue? Regards, --Polarlys (talk) 21:21, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you deleted File:JOHN CHRISTODOULOU.jpg after I tagged it as a copyright violation. The same user has created File:YCF-PHOTO-JOHN-CHRISTODOULOU-1-SOCIAL-MEDIA-768x982-1.jpg, also an obvious copyright violation. I have blocked the user at en.wiki. Thanks for looking into it.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:01, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done, Thank you. --Polarlys (talk) 09:52, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I see you deleted File:Löggulíf.jpg. The user has repeatedly violated Commons rules after repeated warnings. I was wondering if there is time for a block? Steinninn ♨ 21:35, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary restore request of deleted files

[edit]

Hi Polarlys, I understand why you deleted my uploaded files as I shown above, but I had already been deleted the original files after uploaded to wiki. So, would you temporarily restore the deleted files for the sake of me to save the files again? Those files are important for me because they contain the precious info of my schools. I am afraid I don’t have the time to do this. Regards, --Polarlys (talk) 20:57, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
