Hi INeverCry; some days ago this image was deleted. I think that it is not a clear case of derivative work from a protected photo. The limits between inspired and derivative works are blurred, then I think that this kind of images needs a discussion previous to delete them. Anyway this kind of discussions could be useful; we are promoting the involvement of art students to contribute with images in Wikipedia (this work was one of this) through the wikiArS initiative. Discussions could be a good reference, even if ends in delete, to improve our assignments for future works. Please restore the deleted image and initiate a discussion about it. Thanks in advance. --Dvdgmz (<span class="signature-talk">talk</span>) 15:24, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

:I tried restoring it so I could start a deletion request, but I'm unable to do so because of the following technical error: "Error undeleting file: A non-identical file already exists at "mwstore://local-swift/local-public/9/93/Josep_Maria_Folch_i_Torres.jpg." Perhaps you should ask about this at COM:VP, COM:Help Desk or COM:AN. License review request

Greetings again

If you could spare some time, could you please do license check for the following files:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:ИжМаш_АК-74.png
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:VDVshow_attack.jpg
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:StrelokAk-74.jpg
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:51AirborneRegiment04.jpg
So that to ensure that all licensing requirements are set correctly (and that I may proceed to upload some derivatives under the license's terms)

Thanks in advance --RussianTrooper (talk) 18:05, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've reviewed the 3 Kuzmin photos. The gun image details are confusing. The first upload, in 2010, is to Deviant Art. I don't see the need for the second source, which was uploaded in June, 2011. I also don't see the need for the details about "per Age of Atom Wiki standard license". This is released clearly at Deviant Art under , and so the Atom Wiki stuff, and the explanation of the license requirements look to be superfluous. I would suggest removing the Atom Wiki source/details, and the "Permission confirmed by mr. Kenshin personally. Commercial re-use require full attribution of the author in any case of such use", as this seems confusing and unneeded. No personal confirmation, or mention thereof, is needed when the author has directly given indication of a free license at the original source. INeverCry 18:30, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given

Thanks you for autopatrol rights, hopefully admins workloads will be slightly reduced as a result. Liamdavies (talk) 18:47, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

Thank you for speedy deleting my image. Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to preview a CC template, and I decided to upload a test image. Sorry for this, and thank you once again. I hope I did not disrupt Commons. Optakeover (talk) 01:46, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, but if you want to upload tests in future, make sure you upload free images. This looked like a possible copyrighted quote with a copyrighted flower background. Sometimes I patrol and tag new images very quickly, and you wouldn't want an upload of yours to be tagged as a copyvio before you had the chance to tag it for deletion yourself. INeverCry 02:12, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I believe it was copyrighted. My sincere apologies for that. By the way, just now you flagged File:MAN_NL363NF.jpg for speedy deletion due to source being watermarked for having a non-commercial license. I am actually acting on behalf of the author and licensor, and I can confirm that the image was correctly licensed, as shown by the watermark, as CC BY-NC-SA. As an admin I believe that you are able to have the image deleted as well. Optakeover (talk) 02:38, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Another admin will likely delete it soon. I'm just about done for the night. INeverCry 02:42, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Origati

Hello,

Please I would like to understand why you removed files covered by freedom of panorama in Israel?

Israel

The reproduction of this architectural work, work of sculpture or work of applied art, is covered under the Israeli copyright statute (2007), which states that "Broadcasting, or copying by way of photography, drawing, sketch or similar visual description, of an architectural work, a work of sculpture or work of applied art, are permitted where the aforesaid work is permanently situated in a public place." (paragraph 23)
See COM:CRT/Israel#Freedom of panorama and COM:CRT/Israel#De minimis for more information.

I would be happy to know your explanations.

thank you very much.

The files in the first part of the above deletion request are paintings labeled as "own work". It looks like the signed examples are by Ilja Bereznickas. Is this User:Origati? Also, there's no indication/proof of if/where these are displayed publicly? Israeli FOP requires this information. As for the second part of the deletion request, User:Origati's authorship was questioned. Israeli FOP allows you to take photos of art, but it doesn't allow you to claim authorship of other people's images. You must be the author of the image itself. In this case, with no response from the uploader, COM:PRP had to be applied. INeverCry 15:32, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
