Lower expectations before getting a job offer. However, it’s probably fair to start getting excited when the interviews move closer to final decision and final negotiations. Additionally, many people have different circumstances such as family obligations, mandatory travel which may require remote work, special accommodations, etc. I mean these things may be important and may require extra time explaining during the interviews. I would recommend discussing these issues during the second/final round of interviews when you know that the employer is interested. Telling your life story to every recruiter and the beginning stages of the process is probably not the best use of everyone’s time.
