[edit]Derived in the Heian period from writing the man'yōgana kanji 世 in the cursive sōsho style.
Syllable
[edit]- The hiragana syllable せ (se). Its equivalent in katakana is セ (se). It is the fourteenth syllable in the gojūon order; its position is さ行え段 (sa-gyō e-dan, “row sa, section e”).
