1. (dated) company: any business, whether incorporated or not, that manufactures or sells products (also known as goods), or provides services as a commercial venture.

   Synonyms: kongsi, konsorsium, perusahaan, perserikatan, sindikasi

   Pertambangan ini kebanjakan dilakukan oleh maskapai partikulir asing, hanja tambang batu bara Sawah Lunto jang diusahakan oleh Pemerintah. ― Most mining is done by foreign private company, only Sawah Lunto mine is done by the government.

   Kita telah mencari hubungan dengan salah satu maskapai asuransi di Jepang yang tertua, ialah Dai-Ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company, yang didirikan pada 1902. ― We had found relation with one of oldest insurance company in Japan, Dai-Ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company, which was established in 1902.

2. (colloquial) ellipsis of maskapai penerbangan (“airline”, literally “aviation company”).

   Tapi di jalur domestik, maskapai saat ini memiliki sedikitnya enam pesawat. ― However, the airline has at least six planes in domestic route.
