In their seventh year under head coach Dana X. Bible, the Longhorns compiled an overall record of 7–1–1, with a mark of 5–0 in conference play, and finished as SWC champion. Texas concluded their season with a tie against Randolph Field in the Cotton Bowl Classic.[1]
