Maryam Moshiri is a television broadcaster, currently with the BBC.


Career

Moshiri began her career as a business reporter for Independent Radio News,[1] before joining the BBC.

She is now a regular presenter of the afternoon and evening business news on BBC News, the corporation's 24-hour news channel. She is primarily a business reporter, but has also worked in other aspects of broadcasting.

In addition to her work on the domestic news channel, she is also a weekend presenter on BBC World News.

She has also worked as a news-reader, occasionally delivering the national BBC 8.00pm News Summary on BBC 1, and has also appeared as the main presenter on the BBC News Channel, in December 2006 and August 2008.

Personal life

Moshiri, also known as Moshi, was educated at University College London. She graduated in 2000 with a BA in Italian.[2]

She reports under her maiden name: she is married to Jon, also a journalist, and became a mother in 2013.
