Mozilla Sunbird is the standalone version of what used to be known as Mozilla Calendar. It was announced in July 2003.[1] The latest version is 0.3 alpha2, and a final release to 0.3 is in the works to be released at the end of August 2006, simultaneous to its counterpart project, The Lightning Project.[2] The Sunbird Project is described as "...a cross platform standalone calendar application based on Mozilla's XUL user interface language."[3]
On June 15, 2004, the Sunbird developers asked the Mozilla community to submit possible new default themes and logos for Sunbird.
