Aileen Mercedes Cannon (born 1981)[1] is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida and a United States District Judge–Designate of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Biography

Cannon received a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. She began her legal career as a law clerk to Judge Steven Colloton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Cannon worked as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and currently serves as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.[2] Cannon has been a member of the Federalist Society since 2005.[1]

On April 29, 2020, President Trump announced his intent to nominate Cannon to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.[2] On May 21, 2020, her nomination was sent to the United States Senate.
