Amber Calling

Amber Calling are a Pop-Punk/Emo band from Adelaide, who formed in 2005 under the name of 919.

History

Amber Calling chugged their brutal riffs all the way through 2005 in Adelaide, South Australia under the moniker of 919.[1] The band was conceived by brothers Mike and Dave (who also now own and run a retail store called We Are Godzilla in Adelaide [2]). Mixing their elements of Pop-Punk, Emo and Indie.

The band played the Adelaide leg of the 2007 Australian Taste Of Chaos tour with headliners The Used, Aiden and Rise Against. The band also scored a spot on the Adelaide show of the Panic At The Disco 2008 Australian tour.[3]

The band's track 'This Cell' is featured on a numerous national and international compilation cds. The track also got them exposure, increased their fan base and got them featured on Myspace Australia's homepage.[4][5]

Early 2008 the band hit the studio with Darren Thompson (known for his work with In Fiction and The Hot Lies) to work on an EP. The result was 'The Truth About Lies' which hit shelves 14 April 2008.[6]

2009 saw the band release "Coming Home" and "Drive Drive" singles, and share the stage with the likes of Short Stack on the Sway Sway Tour.

In July 2009, they band started on pre production of their Debut album with Darren Thompson again at the helms.
