Chamical is a municipality and village in La Rioja Province in northwestern Argentina.[1] At the 2010 census [INDEC] the population was 12,919. The town is crossed by the Tirante Wadi and lies on National Route 38, 141 kilometers from La Rioja City. This young town has been an important site in several stages of Argentine history since the 1950s.
