The girl later gets married to another person, although in the poem it is mentioned that the girl ditched Edapally to choose another man. How ever in real life it was that Edappally's love for the girl was more of a [[Unrequited_love]]. Just like the ending of the poem, Edapally Raghava Pillai commits suicide on the wedding day of the girl he liked. |

Changampuzha continues to be revered and read by all malayalees. His Ramanan written in the romantic tradition remains a best seller to date. Ramanan a long romantic poem, was based on the life of Changampuzha Krishna Pillai's friend Edappally Ragahava Pillai (generally known as Edappally).
Similar to the plot in Ramanan, Edappally is believed to be in love with a girl from a very rich family. The girl later gets married to another person, although in the poem it is mentioned that the girl ditched Edapally to choose another man. How ever in real life it was that Edappally's love for the girl was more of a Unrequited_love. Just like the ending of the poem, Edapally Raghava Pillai commits suicide on the wedding day of the girl he liked.
