It has been in the news recently as the local civic body has stopped issuing of new registrations to hospitals in Dhantoli and Ramdaspeth area.[2]Recently,eleven well-known hospitals in and around Dhantoli which had been directed by the fire and emergency services department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to shut their buildings for use for failure to install preventive fire systems continue to operate despite getting notices four months back.[3] Most of the medical shops are also situated in this area.The first NABH hospital in central India, Hope Hospitals is located in Dhantoli.

Business centre

Dhantoli is also the main business centre in Nagpur. Famous dailies, Lokmat and century old The Hitavada, have their main offices in Dhantoli. One of the oldest stadium in Nagpur, Yashwant Stadium is located here and the ground near to it is the usual and popular places for exhibitions, circus etc.and is known as Patwardhan grounds.
