Giesen is a village and a municipality in the district of Hildesheim, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approx. 6 km northwest of Hildesheim, and 22 km southeast of Hanover.

Giesen is also the last name of a very close banded family. They reside throughout the state of Minnesota, and are known to be among the best beer drinkers.
