Julien Rose Baker (born September 29, 1995[1]) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Memphis, Tennessee. She is a member of the alternative rock band, Forrister. She released a studio album, Sprained Ankle, on 6131 Records in 2015.
Early life and education
Baker was born in Memphis, Tennessee[2] and grew up in the Bluff City.[3] She learned to play on her father's guitar.[4][5] She attends Middle Tennessee State University.[1]
Career
In 2010, Baker cofounded a band called The Star Killers, who renamed itself, Forrister in 2015. [6][7][8] Baker separated from her band, Forrister, during her freshman year at MTSU and began writing songs on her own.[3][5] She self-released an EP in the winter of 2014 on Bandcamp[9] which became the studio album Sprained Ankle, in October 2015.[8]
