Kon-Tiki is a 2012 Norwegian historical drama film about the 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition. It is directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. The role of Thor Heyerdahl is played by Pål Sverre Valheim Hagen. The film has been selected as the Norwegian entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards.[2]

Plot

The film is the dramatized story of Thor Heyerdahl and his Kon-Tiki expedition of 1947. The reason of the journey was to prove his theory that people from South America could have settled in Polynesia in pre-Columbian times, to do this he builds a balsa raft to sail from Peru to the Polynesia across the Pacific Ocean along with five other men.
