In 1989, Drew made his screen debut in a film cast that included Daniel Day-Lewis, Ray McAnally, and Brenda Fricker in My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown.[3] In 1992, he played Sergeant Brophy, appearing alongside Gabriel Byrne, Ellen Barkin, and Brendan Gleeson, in the Irish Traveller movie Into the West.[3]
In 1995, he starred alongside Sean Bean in the television movie Sharpe's Battle.[3] In 1999, he was in the ensemble with Emily Watson and Robert Carlyle in the Irish drama movie Angela's Ashes.[3]
He appeared in The Nephew (1998),[3] Bloom (2003),[3] King Arthur (2004),[3] and Tales from Dún Draíochta (2022).[3]
